More about Sirius

It was a bit of a coincidence friday afternoon when I continued reading Robert Anton Wilson's 'Cosmic Trigger 1' where I left off and the next paragraph was about Andrija Puharich (I don't remember ever hearing the name before Jeff's post from that morning).

Then I go on to read how Wilson and Tim Leary both felt at the time (1973) that they were in telepathic communication with something from Sirius. It was around the same time that Phil Dick had his mystical experiences as well.

One of the more bizarre parts of the book describes how the Dogon tribe in Africa apparently knew details invisible to the naked eye about the Sirius star system long before astonomers.

The book also mentions Uri Geller, but at the time he was channeling something called 'Spectra' and there's no mention of anything calling itself 'the Nine'.

What I like about Wilson is that he's very cautious about drawing conclusions from all the weirdness. Not just what he's experienced, but 'supernatural' phenomena in general.

Youre post.

A couple of things spring to mind here. Ive been meaning to mention this on one of the threads on Jeffs blog, but its probably better here.

Firstly - I dont believe theres any such thing as coincidence in the grand order of things. Something to chew on perhaps

Secondly - Should we really be surprised that those who venture into areas which address a far sterner reality than our ingrained skepticism will often allow, find that each of these movements are co-opted by higher ups who KNOW the score - or is that perhaps another coincidence ?<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

I think what Im trying to say, is that just because this co-option is a given in any movement which sees the PTB worming their way to the top of any movement, and then directing it from above, as opposed to working on behalf of the bottom of the structure, doesnt in any way imply that those within the structure are either barking up the wrong tree, or are in any way part of the problem.

Jeffs posts of late have hit a lot closer to home IMO than dare I say even he might ever realise.

And I dont think that this is any coincidence either, as more and more people tune in to his writing.

the Sirius stuff is interesting

in that, if nothing else, it's 100% clear -- unless you're an amazing obfusciatrist -- that the Giza pyramids are aligned to mimic Orion's belt, where Sirius's home in our skies. What that meant to the Egyptians is anyone's guess, really, and what it means now to the various claimaints of hidden Egyptian knowledge is also anyone's guess, but that Sirius et celestial environs was at one point assigned considerable seems inarguable.

One Star in Sight.

Thelemites, like myself, have always held Sirius in high regard. Since before speculations about it were mainstream.

Everyone has their own views as to why. Myself included.

was my husband's favorite AC poem. One Star Insight, as he used to say.

Thy feet in mire, thine head in murk,
O man, how piteous thy plight,
The doubts that daunt, the ills that irk,
Thou hast nor wit nor will to fight ---
How hope in heart, or worth in work?
No star in sight!

Thy gods proved puppets of the priest.
"Truth? All's relation!" science sighed.
In bondage with thy brother beast,
Love tortured thee, as Love's hope died
And Lover's faith rotted. Life no least
Dim star descried.

Thy cringing carrion cowered and crawled
To find itself a chance-cast clod
Whose Pain was purposeless; appalled
That aimless accident thus trod
Its agony, that void skies sprawled
On the vain sod!

All souls eternally exist,
Each individual, ultimate,
Perfect --- each makes itself a mist
Of mind and flesh to celebrate
With some twin mask their tender tryst
Insatiate. {229}

Some drunkards, doting on the dream,
Despair that it should die, mistake
Themselves for their own shadow-scheme.
One star can summon them to wake
To self; star-souls serene that gleam
On life's calm lake.

That shall end never that began.
All things endure because they are.
Do what thou wilt, for every man
And every woman is a star.
Pan is not dead; he liveth, Pan!
Break down the bar!

To man I come, the number of
A man my number Lion of Light;
I am The Beast whose Law is Love.
Love under will, his royal right ---
Behold within, and not above,
One star in sight!
-----
Cheers

Love is the Law,
Daniel

I would send this privately but HH is not registered, so please forgive the intrusion of "subjective floaties" on this board.

Thanks HH for the A:.A:. At my husband's memorial service, I asked the UU minister to read that poem. My husband had shown it to me one night in the month or so before he died, and we analyzed every line. As time goes on, I understand it more although still not completely. We are the "chance cast clods" who seek out a twin (mate) here on earth, deceiving ourselves that this is it.

I love the last lines -- "Behold within and not above, one star insight!" I also like the imagery of shimmering souls on the lake.

I may not agree with everything Uncle Al did or said, but this sure is a beautiful poem!

Thanks again!

indeed.

Its not my favorite of A.C.
I prefer parts of "Aha!" personally.

Insofar as the Beast's actions go, I am a Thelemite, not an apologist, so I do not defend his actions. I can say, that if you add all the bad he did together, that he wouldn't seem all that weird if he'd been born 100 years later...

(There is no evidence to support any allegations as to his supposed "criminal activities"--except his bisexuality--and a short perusal of the claims made about him, and who made them, tends to discredit the more outrageous ones completely...)
