If there's any truth to it, it will be one of the greatest discoveries ever and will make Ponce DeLeon roll in his grave.

I wonder if it's anything like the lithium pools that Hemingway's brother, Leicester found in the Bimini Islands, in the Bahamas, near Florida.
I can't find any mention of it online, but I saw it on "In Search Of....(Atlantis)", when I was a kid.

He swam around in one of the pools and claimed that it cured all manner of pains and made people feel young and energetic, which was due to the high levels of lithium in the water.

That was before he created his own country of "New Atlantis",.
The country was an 8x30 raft.
Hahahaha.

anecdotage.com/index.php?aid=18948

In 1964, Leicester Hemingway (Ernest Hemingway's little brother) built an 8-by-30 foot floating bamboo platform, dubbed it "New Atlantis," towed it seven miles off the coast of Jamaica, and anchored it to the ocean floor with a Ford engine block. "I can stand on the platform, walk around on it, and salute the flag, all of which I do periodically," he told reporters. "There are no taxes here, because taxes are for people not smart enough to start their own countries."

Edited by: johnny nemo at: 8/16/06 3:23 pm

There's a bunch of Lithium springs in central Il. Used to be a bunch of resorts built around them but they've pretty much disappeared in to the woods. Might be the time to buy up some prime Shelby county eh?
