I've heard this. Not so much recently but until a few years ago I often lay in total silence, sometimes reading, sometimes trying to sleep, when suddenly the frequency switched to a higher or lower pitch. It was only then I realised there'd been a previous tone. WTF was that? I thought until the new tone became the new normal.

Ocasionally, halfway to sleep I'd get a buzz as if something like a mild electric shock shot in one ear and out the other. This was the weirdest because I could blame the pitch shifting on external factors while the ear to ear buzz seemed purely internal.

This was during a highly stressful time of my life between 10 and 20 years ago, since then I've sorted a lot of things out and no longer have these experiences. Now all I hear is the humming of the PC and the distant rumbling of chemplanes.

Speaking of which, I've spent most of the last two weeks in a chemfog, watching them lay it on thick and going to work in a real pea soup. And I feel great! Positively giddy!

That can't be right?

I've heard it. I have tinnitus..the ringing in the ears...that's not what they mean. It's a low pitched thing. To me it sounded like maybe a subway in constant motion underground but not far. I could hear it better with an ear to a telephone pole.

Did I mention this was VERY rural alabama? Rules the subway out.

However that area of the south has lots of military stuff. I assumed that was what it was...don't know about Taos, the first place I read about people hearing it. The woman with me at the time couldn't hear it.

Is there a site(s) where one can learn more about possible EMF technology?

I have tinnitus too, and have just started hearing the hum here again. Amazing that I can hear it above the tinnitus. This one seems to be seasonal, from what I can figure out. Sounds like a faint motor, constantly running. I'm very sensitive to noises, so the tinnitus drove me crazy in the beginning. I've been woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of a refridgerator motor that never shut off, was running continuously because it was going bad. So, when I started hearing the hum, I tried to locate it, thinking some sort of equipment was gong on the fritz. The noise is as "loud" inside as it is outside. Other people can't hear it. Can't locate it, but it seems to be in the fall, so I figure it's probably some farmer's grain dryer. Drives me nuts.

Not a long time ago.

Postby slimmouse » Thu Oct 19, 2006 6:46 pm

Not a long time ago, apparently there were huge explosions heard just off the coast here.

The "official" explanation was that there were Air force jets conducting low flying excercises which broke the sound barrier.

I have no position on this personally, but those familiar with this kinda stuff, say that the sound barrier bullshit is just that.

Is it DUMBS, or is it us that are being dumb ?
