Great Example of Steering Opinion

Postby ZeroHaven » Mon Jul 25, 2005 5:13 pm

I was just watching "Democracy Now!" (25JUL05) and found their broadcast to be a fascinating example of the type of mental-push tactics that have been recently discussed. Posting in hopes someone finds it useful.

Here's my summary of headlines:

1. Bush administration refuses to hand over documents written by Supreme Court nominee John Roberts. No real justification other than "shh, it's a secret".
2. Pentagon still refuses to release photos of prisoners to ACLU, despite being court-ordered to do so.
3. Bush administration trying to block legislation that calls for "humane treatment" of detainees, because it would impede the president's ability to protect the US effectively from attacks. WHAT?!
4. South America is launching a new news station Telesur, so last week the House of Representatives passed an amendment to broadcast their own station into the area. Reason? To undermine "anti-American" sentiment.

So the pattern is 1.defy 2.hide 3.block 4.intercept

After hearing all these headlines, I am finding it VERY DIFFICULT to not believe that the last one is related to something nasty the government is up to.

5. The massive heatwave. It's killing off homeless and elderly like a plague.

So effectively it's 5. kill

Wow, that's some powerful presentation. Good enough to make me remember Putin's weather control machine (last used in May) and wonder if somebody might've borrowed it.
_______________________________
before you say I'm looney, it's well
known in eastern Europe that in Russia
rain is forced 12 hours before
major parades and other out-door
events -- weather control
