Re: Ollie North -- It always amazes me just HOW inna WORLD can these dangerous, deluded zealot-maniacs manage to convince themselves they are actually 'defending' America and acting on the side of God and what is Right.

The incredible damage done to the nation, to the American public, to Central American peasants and their children, and the long-term destruction of America's reputation and capacity for good-will done by Ollie and his cohorts is simply incalculable. But these horrors that he was involved in -- gun-running, smuggling drugs, money-laundering, creating networks with organized criminal gangs and South American/Arab/Israeli terrorists, undermining democratic institutions in Latin America, creating US Military Cadres and Intelligence Operative cells that acted with almost complete autonomy, training foreign forces in the subtle arts of horribly torturing bystanders and villagers not for any actionable intelligence but as a terror-technique to keep rural populations intimidated and fearful -- were inevitable outcomes of the US's militarized National Security State extending from its unaccountable debauchery in Southeast asia, in which at a minimum 2 million people were killed, and uncounted hundreds of thousands more were seriously injured, made homeless or devastated by war and its aftermath.

America lacked the courage, integity and conviction to fully prosecute the top civil servants, corporate war-profiteers, generals and elected officials who played a central role in prosecuting the Vietnam War -- and so all through the 70s, 80s and 90s we had the same and similiar kinds of systemic abuses and frauds and atrocities being committed by the US and its various 'ally' accomplices, since they could apparently excuse (or deny) EVERYTHING they did.

And there's STILL people who endorse everything the US does in domestic and foreign policy, while being mostly ignorant about how power REALLY works and for whose behalf -- ie, NOT for The People, that's for damn sure. And so we have folks who believe an e-mail just because it vilifies people of another political party that they've been conditioned like Pavlov's dogs, but to snarl and sneer at instead of salivate.

I think Ollie's crimes are FAR, far worse than 'just' murder -- and I'd support the death penalty for that class of treason and lying to Congress and participating in the mass-murder and torture of non-combatants that he and his ilk were involved in.

Starman

Different friends, more reichwinger network garbage. Man, are these people organized or what? It is incredibile how this appeals to the uninformed. Not that I count myself as totally informed, but I am not totally naive, either. Who do you suppose wrote this little motivational piece?

Subject: A LITTLE JUSTICE

The Budweiser Story (not a joke) This is TRUE!

How Budweiser handled those who laughed at those who died on the 11th of September, 2001...Thought you might like to know what happened in a little town north of Bakersfield, California.

After you finish reading this, please forward this story on to others so that our nation and people around the world will know about those who laughed when they found out about the tragic events in New York, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon.

On September 11th, a Budweiser employee was making a delivery to a convenience store in a California town named McFarland. He knew of the tragedy that had occurred in New York when he entered the business to find the two Arabs, who owned the business, whooping and hollering to show their approval and support of this treacherous attack.

The Budweiser employee went to his truck, called his boss and told him of the very upsetting event! He didn't feel he could be in that store with those horrible people. His boss asked him, "Do you think you could go in there long enough to pull every Budweiser product and item our beverage company sells there? We'll never deliver to them again." The employee walked in, proceeded to pull every single product his beverage company provided and left with an incredible grin on his face.?He told them never to bother to call for a delivery again. Budweiser happens to be the beer of choice for that community. Just letting you know how Kern County handled this situation.

And Now The Rest Of The Story:
It seems that the Bud driver and the Pepsi man are neighbors. Bud called Pepsi and told him. Pepsi called his boss who told him to pull all Pepsi products as well!!! That would include Frito Lay, etc. Furthermore, word spread and all vendors followed suit! At last report, the store was closed indefinitely. Good old American Passive-Aggressive A$$ Whoopin!

Pass this along, America needs to know that we're all working together!

If you can read this... thank a teacher... if you are reading it in English..THANK A SOLDIER!!!
God Bless America !!

jesus....these idiots have no shame. who comes up with this crap? I realize that the people that mindlessly spread it around just don't know better...but someone somewhere had to actually sit down and whip up this bullshit. how could anyone sit there and think, "Well, I know "my side" can't win without cheating....soooo...I'M GONNA CHEAT!!!"?

pathetic. they have so little faith in their own ideals and causes that they have to lie and cheat and spread disinfo to "win".

good to know about this stuff though. I had never seen the Ollie North one till now. I'm sure that one will be spread around pretty well once the 2008 elections are near.

That's my point. I think this is a very organized operation, maybe direct from the Repuglican party or even from a government propaganda operation. I only get hints of it here and there, but these Repuglycan friends and family appear to be all networked into the same network, which seems beyond the possibility of coincidence, unless it is a really big network. They don't know each other, and they live in widely separate states, so what are the chances that they would have sent the same email? One is religious, the rest are not. The only thing they have in common is being Republican. I don't think this is random, I believe it is organized, very organized. And these things sure do trip the triggers of the ones who recieve them--they get really emotional about this shit.

I got the same e-mail

It drives me nuts that this myth is still in circulation. I didn't see anyone mention it above, but the terrorist that North mentioned was Abu Nidal.
I googled North and Abu Nidal and found plenty of material. I then did a "reply to all" and sent out the de-bunking information. It went straight to everyone that my right wingnut friend sent it to, with a severe scolding for sending such obvious crap around.
Anyway, that works for me...
