Without wishing to encourage paranoia I would expect that regular posters on this forum and many others are routinely investigated. Tell tale signs are frequent interruptions to phone connections, sporadic arrival of mail, ie none for a few days and then a whole bundle, often with an elastic band around. Visits by two people for vaguely innocent purposes ie a church or something similar. I was lucky enough to receive a pair of Jehovah's witnesses last thursday much to my surprise as I live two miles from the nearest road, half way up a mountain. I weigh up the chances of two non local religeous types walking up a steep track on the hottest day of the year in suits, to a cottage that even many local people do not know about and find it curious. One held me in conversation about the state of the world and the older one studied me. That no one else in the village below received a visit adds to my suspicions.
I don't think a visit to RI alone is enough to trigger an investigation but most people who post here will trawl far and wide on the net and thats what gets them interested. Trip enough wires and they'll probably come sniffing. As for RI itself, a quick dive into the archives and it's almost a surprise Jeffs' not been shut down a long time ago cos there's a lot there to deeply piss off a host of people.

House was seen being photographed, mail was opened several times(and sloppily resealed), anti-NWO forum I moderated on literally destroyed by it's owner for no apparent reason, computer HD with tons of data infected with a virus on the boot sector(?!) kicked me back to zero.

Nah, nothing to worry about here..

hava - regarding your 'aside':

I recently moved, and upgraded to DSL pro-speed. Since then, I have had multiple connection problems that my ISP claims is related to "low frequency" settings. They fixed it once, but now I get continuous clicks and such on my phone line, along with 'ghost' voices in the background. Kind of like the old fashioned party lines that nobody but we of a certain age remember. Do I think it's coincidence? No.

Friendcatcher - I'm not paranoid. I accept the surveillance as price for my involvement. That said, let's hope things do not get fatalistic, as when Billy Joel says, "We will all go down together." Instead, I am determined we will all rise up together. If not as One, than as a determined Cluster of Many!

from now on when you get "low frequency" problems it should be understood as code name for wiretapping ? i'll consider that as true for now.
Just a bit of a warning against "clicking" sounds. In my case, at least, this was clearly a hypnotic/MC cue, in a progamming setting. That's different from the usual cracking clicking sounds of a usual bad line.

Snip:

Quote:
...
What a surreal week that was. I can't wait to read that. A Telegram! LOL. Well, in my case, the phone company is my ISP. No wonder they offer such a good price for 'bundling' services. Much better to have a phone by one company and Internet service by another. Perhaps it doesn't really matter.

This ought to interest you. My computer is right next to my phone, which has a little window for caller ID info. It keeps lighting up as if from an incoming call. But it never rings. I've picked it up, but there's never anyone there.

This only happens when I'm online. At first, I thought it was just a sort of surge coming through the DSL line, but I've just noticed it lit up as I logged onto this board. Come on!

Hava, whatever it is, I feel badly for complaining about the possible survellience and other annoyances when you've got these fuckers calling for far more nefarious reasons. Grrrrrrrrr. Trigger this, you bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me while I go and have a whiskey and soda.
