Consensus of the Damned

Postby proldic » Sat Sep 17, 2005 10:28 pm

I just got this e-mail:

Quote:
It really is exciting- lots of good people on the RI board. You surely are
all dead if they get killing (much more than the Iris Changs). And seeing
as that is already the case- what have you/we to lose...- I definitely
agree with Dreams End... not just you, but develop some organized
consensus and take the shit to Democratic Underground and beyond. Bona
fide political organizing from a chat room in a matter of months- that's
got to be fucking cutting-edge revolutionary.

WTF? Ummm..proldic, you mind giving me a bit more info on this "email" as my name is mentioned? Did it come in your EZinbox or to your own email address? Was it anonymous?

Wow, that could be taken as a not very veiled threat, eh?
=======
Oh, I enjoy an egg myself, yes. They don't make good pets, though; you can never get them in at night.
~Doctor Pratt (played by Peter Sellers), "The Wrong Box"

That's kinda why I was curious to know where it came from. If it was in his regular email...since he doesn't have that on his profile here, that would be a little freakier. Till I hear different, I'll assume he got it in his inbox here on EZboard.

oh...I got a nice note from foodforlife some time ago. It was the killing part of the quote that was a little off-putting.

Personally, I don't know why people post on DU. I don't. I'd simply get banned or whatever they call it. Not that I really mind. The moderators are pretty honest, it seems. They ban people they think are too far outside the "mainstream". Whether they are agents or just closed-minded liberals, they can ban whomever they want. It's their forum. But if you added up all the "this post got locked at DU" threads on this forum...you'd need some extra hard drive space.

So I've never bothered. Oh, well I did post once when they were making fun of "conspiracy theories". I said something like "yeah, watergate, overthrow of Chile, Iran-Contra, etc." what clap trap....thinking they'd see the irony. However someone got on there and said "yeah, but where's your PROOF, moran (sic)". I couldn't respond because the thread had gotten locked. Besides, how do you respond to that?

The "get the ball rolling" quote was from me and was specifically in regards to the difficult dialogue about Israel's involvement in Bad Things, without falling into the trap (intentionally set, in my view) of a Jewish conspiracy mentality. Also the rather odd notion that this tiny country is running the US. Israelirealities had some interesting perspective from the inside and I thought it was a good conversation. Since many NWO-type conspiracy theories are either veiled anti-Semitic theories or get corrupted by same, I hope the dialogue continues. This, of course, from someone who accepts the reality of NWO type conspiracies!

Why do you take a person serious who threatened you?

p216.ezboard.com/brigorou...oodforlife

I mean I still post at DU sometimes and quite a number of people here post very regularly and there are dailykosser here as well and many more, so I don't think that it has ever been an issue. Either way if you want to discuss organizing something I think that he could have posted a message here and we could have discussed it. After all it is a messageboard.

I find it very strange. Personally I'd ignore him after that 'note'

Well, I'm assuming that we are misinterpreting the note as a threat. proldic said that's not what the guy meant, and foodforlife's private email to me was complimentary and seeking permission to read something I'd written on the air of a microbroadcast or podcast or something.

I guess maybe foodforlife or proldic can further clarify.

I'm glad people can post at DU. I just see so many "Look who's banned now" messages here that I just figured you can post what you want but if it gets too conspiratorial they'll just lock it or ban you.

However sometimes people with 10,000+ posts suddenly end up banned and that's spooky.

There were two occassions when I thought that I might get banned. The first time was when I called out an alphabet agent and suddenly my posts were deleted and his were still standing and I just thought: "DAMN!". And the second time was during Katrina when Eliorel and many others including me started building an overview of the LIHOP/MIHOP events of Katrina and that post was then deleted.

But in general people like Jeff have posted 10,000+ posts on DU and most are conspiracy stuff and it's fine, but sometimes posts disappear or get locked or moved to the dungeon (the term for the 9/11 forum).

So it's a bit weird. Also most moderators are great people except for one exception who shall remain nameless...
