Here's a crazy thought - an RI night out

Postby Rigorous Intuition » Tue Nov 01, 2005 4:28 pm

I'm not even sure I want to do this, but I also think it could be fun and stimulating to convene sometime over a few drinks on the material plane and try to sort out the world, the universe and everything.

It would need to be in Toronto, but it needn't be at night.

Let me know here your thoughts, interest and when might be convenient. I'm thinking, vaguely, of sometime before Christmas, and somewhere downtown.

Edited by: Rigorous Intuition at: 11/1/05 1:29 pm

"boots on the ground"...

Postby km artlu » Tue Nov 01, 2005 5:07 pm

....as our defenders of freedom like to say.

count me in. i've been thinking the same thing for weeks, prompted by the quality of commentary here. and also a consistent urge for concerted efforts of some kind scattered through these pages.

it's an especially attractive idea having been initiated by you, jeff.

A very nice woman forwarded me info on a progressive gallery space in Toronto. She encouraged me to submit my work for a show. I'm seriously considering it.

If anything like that ever panned out, I'd hope to see you at the opening.

If you all meet up, have fun and give us a proper debriefing!

well

Postby Homeless Halo » Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:59 pm

I'm usually too paranoid to consider an option like this. Also, I'm a newbie here, although I find the general tone to be more....encouraging, than I've found it to be in many places. I don't know if that makes me less or more paranoid though...

I should consider it. Toronto wouldn't be that difficult. Christmas time...

I won't be able to make it on the material plane, but I'll be there in spirit.

What I'd like to see is the reaction of anybody sitting at a booth or table nearby the RI party who happens to overhear some of the topics of conversation.

Homeless Halo - don't worry man, I think we could keep and use our online handles should we some of us meet at a bar/cafe/space. One could also turn up with a Groucho Marx disguise. Or Karl.
