Is this one you use regularly?

Postby banned » Fri Dec 09, 2005 3:52 am

I know if you don't use them regularly they are deleted--I got sick a few years ago and was offline while, and lost the account I used for my genealogy correspondence. They didn't even email me at my primary email which I had given them when I registered to tell me they were going to do it.

My father has been for a while, but more so we have been estranged for the last decade. I am trying to figure a way how to mourn a father who was never a father, and who "died" for me a long time ago. Strangely, last year I changed my name back to my maiden name, his surname, the one he was born with and has changed later. It was a need to reconnect with roots. He changed his name when he was sent by the ISraeli military to the USA, for a year training in Radar/Air force technical issues, i believe in Alabama, during the 50's. Only recently, did I connect this fact with perhaps darker issues in our family. What happened in the US air force ? he changed his name under a law, then, that israelis on state mission had to use a Hebrew name, not their old exilic name (ours is German sounding, we originate in Russia).
In the last year, I tended to see him more as a victim, i looked at the entire context, of US-ISraeli relations, the colonizaiton, the military connections, the abuse coated in sugary words. Like Harold Pinter says. So I was more forgiving, but we did not resume relations. I was also starting to dig up family history, more than a 150 years ago, when his great grandfather immigrated to Palestine for unclear reasons. (prior to ZIonist movement).
He was a very beautiful man, talented, artistic, charming, who fell pray to the realities of a war torn region, turbulent times, and personal weakness or inability to cope. More than anything he is a victim of US imperialism in Israel, disguised as "Foreign Aid" and militarization. He was not supposed to be a military man, he was an artist, a very talented carpenter/painter, and he spent his life and family on crap, selling arms, going back and forth to the USA, serving the masters of destruction. He was not happy about it, but then it is very hard to leave those roles, once you get into them.
He was a pawn for the evil allignment, and he inheritted it to me, all of his children, and I don't feel the issue has been resolved, certainly not with me and my position in Israel, and vis a vis the military junta.
2 of my sisters died in the USA, my last remaining sister is part of the corruption and has moved last month to New Jersy. I am the last one, here in Israel, and I don't actually live, in the full sense of the word. The ghosts of his allignment, all those air force, aircraft industry thugs are hovering over me, wanting me to accept them, or to join the legacy. I still don't see a way out. At least, I made my position clear. I am doing my symbolic intifada, or "strike". not joining the game. but this leaves me no other game, or avenue, right now. What a family.
May he rest in peace !

Postby jenz » Fri Dec 09, 2005 7:22 am

I'm sorry about your father IR. our families are important even when they are wrong (and so often wronged by outside forces). you have a little cyber family to add on now, the misfits here at RI. I'd wondered about your email, and decided you must be ok because I found posts from you here. I've had mine messed with a few times, that's why I have such a funny pseudonym now, started as a joke after the umpteenth attack, and touch wood that one's been left alone.

jenz - not a good week, something like "stripping the c

Postby ir » Fri Dec 09, 2005 7:43 am

thank you, i liked the "family of misfits"...description. cyber one, of course.
well, the email is a webmail yahoo, so my pc has been working, but apparently the mailbox had been hacked and now it is GONE, can't believe this is happening. i relied on it, BECAUSE it is web based. and what a timing. i received a hatemail message last night, possibly just before it was deactivated. the writer calling himelf ISH1 wrote - "you are either hearless and cynical or very naive with respect to the people evacuated from Gaza Strip", god knows I have no idea what he was referring to. I checked the email address via google and reached a very scary thread/website Delta Green
www.delta-green.com/about/index.html
and this
www.bio.net/hypermail/VIR...06364.html

he wrote in english transliteration of Hebrew (namely its an israeli living in an english speaking country). it was creepy. Another weird happening a few hours earlier was -
a neighbor whom I don't know met me in the playground and was ALL OVER ME with niceness and schmoozing, she has kids too, i ended up in her apartment with the kids and all, and then she was cryptic about her employment/job, eventually she said she was working for COmbverse, and was asking me questions as if she had already been briefed about me (like where I was born etc.) and then she was talking about being on the internet etc. etc. She handed me her business card, saying she was a Doula, that she had now changed her career fomr Hi tech business to new age alternative doula stuff. I checked the maternity ward she was telling she is interning, nobody knows her. THen she said her husband owns a big firm that does PR for the large Pharma corps. I then figured she can produce a business card very easily for any "doula" stuff she likes. It gave me a feeling of someone not being honest, who are actually corporate types with various agendas. well, i'm not going to meet her again, for sure, but i also left my favorite sweater at her place...shit.
I keep being paranoid about those corporates, like AMDOCS and COMVERSE, they seem to be replacing the good old military juntas, and now I am also possessed with Masonic discovery of yesterday. Not a good day, today, I will it slide. and rest for now.
very worried. thanks for support, hope to regain my email soon. even without old contents in it. *Shame !

Sorry about all your troubles IR. Yahoo sucks in so many ways. There is a free service called "hushmail" www.hushmail.com/. I SHOULD be using it, but I just use the email through my internet provider. Hushmail makes privacy its number one issue and is actually not just an email provider but also an encryption service, so should you feel it necessary you can send encrypted email (to those you've authorized to receive it.)

I would highly recommend, despite the fact that hushmail and other services will store email and files for you, that you download them directly to your computer. If your situation doesn't allow that, then hushmail is likely more reliable than yahoo. HOWEVER, I think you only have a period of three weeks of non-use for the unpaid accounts before they disable it. Paying the fee eliminates that, or just make sure you constantly check email. There are other free email services out there as well.

Here's another free email service specifically for leftists! Don't know much about them except that a guy who sends me a newsletter every so often about the New Orleans situation uses them for his email list. (And I don't think you have to take a test or anything to make sure you have the "correct" politics...they are just activist related.)

riseup.net/

Onto your mysterious emails. Here's the information about Delta Green. First off, it is some kind of roleplaying game, like Dungeons and Dragons only in a 1920's, Lovecraftian setting:

Quote:
Delta Green is a game setting for Call of Cthulhu, the popular horror roleplaying game published by Chaosium, Inc. Call of Cthulhu is a game about mystery, discovery, and horror, in which the characters are more or less ordinary men and women who slowly unravel terrible mysteries about the utterly alien powers at work in the universe.

Admittedly, that doesn't really make it "uncreepy" but that's what the site is.
Here's the "whois" information about the site...owned by the Tynes Cowan corporation, as the website itself says.

Quote:
Tynes Cowan Corporation
5536 25th Ave NE
Seattle, WA 98105
US

Domain Name: DELTA-GREEN.COM

Administrative Contact:
Tynes Cowan Corporation paganbiz@aol.com
5536 25th Ave NE
Seattle, WA 98105
US
206.528.7665 fax: 206.528.0199

Technical Contact:
Bourov, Anthony hostmaster@addr.com
Addr.com
1608 W CampBell Ave
Suite 368
CampBell, CA 95008
US
1-877-ADDRCOM fax: 408-516-9488

I assume that the person who wrote you is Graeme Price? He's the guy who answers the virus question on the second link you provided. Also get a lot of hits about him and his involvement in role-play gaming and evidently he provides content for the Delta Green game. The Delta Green game has a weird, conspiracy background so maybe he's just too caught up in the game? (I noticed, for example, that one of the "scenario books" talks aobut MJ-12, which, according to the legends, came about in 1947).

I have to go right now, but I think it will be interesting to continue looking into this guy and how he relates to "delta green". I must admit, I am actually somewhat familiar with roleplaying games and I've never heard of it before.
