Sorry to keep asking open ended questions, but here I go again. I've seen this book The Glass Bead Game by Herman Hesse mentioned a few times on various conpspiracy spots on the internet, most recently I ran across a downloadable file of it on antiquities of the illuminati (i'll dig up the link if anybody is interested). I'm curious as to why. I've read this thing at least three times, the first time years ago when camping on a beach in Tulum, Mexico. I've never noticed anything that would ring conspiracy alarm bells. Any ideas? I feel very dim about these things sometimes, it often takes me a while to see obvious patterns that might be immediately clear to others. Curious to hear any thoughts about this book, or even explanations as to why it's an object of interest.

only one thing comes..

to mind - is the game not a fourth dimensional mental exercise for the priestly caste.......perhaps thats being (mis?)used by conspiraholics as a metaphor for the games the cryptocracy play on us, bewitching us and keeping us in the dark, clutching at straws.......?

I spent a decade keeping an eye out for a second-hand copy (not trying too hard, obviously!) - then i found one 6 months or so ago.....did i read it avidly, devour it for the wisdom contained ?..........bollocks did I

its there in my storage box - not even in my 'to read' pile by the bed!

sad.

yeah, i agree, i just re-read it recently for the first time in 10 years, my impression was...lame...not sure what i saw in it back then, i guess i was just young and it made me feel smart...i think your hunch about cryptocracy gamesmanship is probably accurate...
