Just found out. Thought I'd spread the news.

I consider Mike to be a friend, and I am so fucking pissed about this.

Mike is authentic as hell... there's nobody in radio quite like him.

Maybe that's the problem.

Mike Molloy

He is subbing for Randi Rhodes at this very moment. I wonder if someone hacked his site.

My mistake... it's Tom Hartman. That's sudden. I'm sure it's not merely financial.

AAR is a total farce.

Malloy is a genius (well... a talk radio genius anyway). I listened to his podcast everyday.

The programmed opposition has never been more transparent.

I hope he comes back more pissed then ever.

Mike malloy

Postby yathrib » Wed Aug 30, 2006 8:54 pm

I was going to write AAR an angry letter threatening to boycott, but it would be an empty threat. What else is there to listen to?

And not all of the non-Mike Malloy content is as bad as people are making out in the wake of this. Randy Rhodes is great, Tom Hartman is a walking encyclopedia of politics, Rachel Maddow is not particularly deep, but she is entertaining, and so on. Just hope they all can keep their jobs.

I think Malloy might have had the best content on AAR, at least he seemed to have started down the 9/11 rabbithole. However, I could never listen to him very long because of his caustic personality. Though not as bad as Janeane Garofalo, his rants can really get on my nerves. Randi Rhodes isn't all that bad, but her sense of humor can get annoying too.

I just wish there was a solid progressive radio network with some personalities that could actually compete with the right wing noise machine. Even though Rush Limbaugh is a despicable human being, he is very good at what he does, which is to spread his message. Even though his numbers have slipped a bit, he's still the most listened to man in America. What's sad is that O'Reilly and Hannity aren't far behind.

If they were all like Mike Malloy, who uses many of the same dose of utter vitriol as the conservs do except he uses FACTS instead of lies, I would still listen. I used to listen every day in the first 6 months or so. Then it was only Malloy. Malloy is good and his recent 9-11 stuff has been good.

Didn't Hollywood Jones interview him recently??

Mike Malloy

Mike was recently on the Alex Jones show, and, when asked what Americans should do in light of the 9/11 hoax, he said, "buy guns."

Perhaps that had something to do with his firing.

Interesting little rightwing hit piece here on Malloy and Tarpley.

www.aim.org/aim_column_print/4831_0_3_0/

Ech. Nasty article. Goes for all the opportunistic kicks in the face possible, doesn't it?

And conveniently stays clear of actually addressing the science and facts of 9/11. The scorn is tied to the anchor of Larouche.

Quote:
Robert Dreyfuss, another former LaRouche collaborator, is a contributor to TomPaine.com, The Nation, Mother Jones, and Rolling Stone. Dreyfuss recently spoke at the New America Foundation on the topic of the "phony clash of civilizations" between Islam and the West. When he worked for LaRouche, Dreyfuss exposed various "Zionist" plots.

I just heard Dreyfuss on a radio interview and he supports the 9/11 cover story in all its wretchedness.

But notice that the AIM article doesn't claim that he believes 9/11 was an inside job, does it? It is just implied. Clever monkeys.

Yeah, it's mostly third rate innuendo kinda stuff, but I actually think he may be right that Tarpley's interview may have seriously pissed off Air America's financiers, especially if Soros is one of them.
