PayPal donation question

I attempted to make a (small) donation to our proprietor today, but was flummoxed by the Pay Pal interface. Upon clicking the "donate" (or similarly worded) button on the RI page I was taken to Pay Pal. Here I was presented with two radio buttons, the second of which (shipping is required) was ticked. The name/address fields indicated a shipping and billing address. I'm confused because A. I don't want ship anything and B. I definitely don't want to ship anything to myself. Can any of you kind souls instruct me on how to proceed further. Should I just populate all the fields w/my details and hope that it makes it to the intrepid Mr. Wells? Thanks in advance for any help anybody can provide.

First, you need a Paypal account. Part of the account information is your billing(and shipping if different) address. Once the account is made and you are logged in, return to Jeff's Paypall link, and click it. From there, you just enter the amount you wish to donate and click ok. Your address will show, but it's not relevant.

Sorry, I was actually trying to just use the secure checkout option. I really hate Pay Pal and don't want to be a member.

Select the first radio button, and proceed from there. You have to enter your billing address so Paypal knows where/how to bill you. The address requirement is more of a credit card security verification than anything, and they need your email to send you the invoice.

Edited by: et in Arcadia ego at: 6/11/06 9:55 pm

Thanks for the help. Turns out that the shipping address one must enter (regardless of which option is selected) disappears after the transaction is complete.

et in Arcadia Ego is from the Pouissin(sic) painting? Holy Blood, Holy Grail? I'm going to go see if you've commented on the Da Vinci Code thread....

I haven't commented on the film as I haven't seen it. I read the book, and I'm ambivelant about it for the most part. Holy Blood, Holy Grail was a real rabbit hole for me till I read about connections between the writers to high level Masonry, and Lincoln's last few works strike me as plain banannas, so I'm kinda left where I started, but as the name suggests, I remain intrigued by the early mysteries and hints of the Underground Stream as can be seen in Poussin and Da Vinci's works.

At the very least, they were no fans of the Church. That and the art is superior, of course..

dugoboy, eventually I'm sure I'll see it, but there's no way I'm going to fuse Hollywood's corrosional touch into any sort of valid discussion of the Underground Stream; this film serves little point but a further muddying of the waters as an extension of the book itself. For whatever other reasons, Brown capatilizes on centuries of blood and lies, and I have as little respect for that as I do the Church itself.

I'll read your thread though. I usually stay out of the Holy Blood discussions becauase of the huge quagmire it represents to me(Grail literature is a friggin meat market), but in all seriousness, it's no worse than anything else we take on, is it..?
