Cultural Foreshadowing of a 2005 9/11

I am uncomfortable with the title of the new Rolling Stones album, which is being released in the first week of September and is called "A Bigger Bang".

Let's keep an inventory of stuff like that.
Could be from politics or entertainment, or anything.
Could be from a most obvious source a la Lone Gunmen pilot.
Could be from a seemingly unrelated source.

Keep the ball rolling...

Ever watch the show "24"?

(warning plot spoilers below)
**********************************************

That show now gives me the creeps because of it's psychological numbing powers.

In the first season Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) saves a presidental candidate from being assainated. Not sure if that fits into my theory of numbing down the population but season 2 and season 3 are very telling.

In season 2 Jack saves LA from a nuclear attack by extremist terrorists. The nuke is flown into the desert and goes off. (There's been talk about the "next attack" occuring in a rural area....makes one think.)

In season 3, Mexican drug lords (I think) try to release a very deadly germ in LA and they kinda succeed. In particular there is an episode where a government agent ends up shooting a civilian who is infected with the germ when the civ tries to escape a building under quarantine. What's worse is that this agent shoots the civ infront of a large crowd of other civs.

I haven't seen season 4 yet. But chances are good that plenty of civs get killed in order to preserve national security.

IMO, the show is one big operation to prepare us for something very serious to happen here. More importantly it shows us civilians that it's ok for our gov to kill us and control us to maintain national security.

...my 2 cents.
