General Gilead was number 2 in Aman at that time (the 80s), namely, the person in charge of military intel research, which is formally the man who decides on the analysis of all intel and brings the official "assessment" to decision makers. The interesting thing is that after he was released from IDF, he was charged, officially, by his superior, general Amos Malka - head of aman - for falsfying the assessment on Arafat contrary to the data Aman collected, and later did the same with WMD in iraq. HE is held personally accountable for WMD scam and for the "no partner" conception (in the 80's) that led to the exclusion of arafat from peace plans by the european quartet. He was then appointed by Sharon as head of the political unit of defense ministry, and later as Sharon's personal aid. In 2003, he was appointed the "national propagandist" for the Iraq war, namely, the man who officially appears in the media to explain the war to the public. He was criticized for spreading a SCARE that was totally unnecessary and false in terms of reality. He is now considered the man everyone likes to trash and hate, re the war, sharon, warmongering and conniving. As i said, the recent outrage, is his claim for military related disability (mental health), based on "stress". -- There is a lot of stuff in hebrew on him, which points to the possibility he was a " cabal trojan horse" in the intel community as of the 80's, and that he, sharon (and netanyahu for sure) and the gangsters from DC could have been plotting together how to sway israel into the iraq war and other parapolitical stuff we know of Israel. -- But mainly he is identified with the WMD joint scam (with the USA), the Iraq war scam and the Arafat conception (namely, that there is evidence he has hostile/aggressive intents towards Israel, which was disputed by all other experts, including as I said, Shin Bet (GSS). -- Just an aside - The soldier who was kidnapped as this was started now, is called Gilead SHalit. if names mean anything.

interesting, cause just a few weeks ago i ran a little research on Oliphant, for some reason, i think i may have written about it here too, following a new fascinating article about him published last month in Oxford modern Jewish studies, comparing him to...GW. The article was trying to show that perhaps Oliphant who was a' true believer' of some fanatic christian cult (from the USA) was kind of "handled" by D'Israeli. Worth reading. It is one of the more serious atempts to assess Christian zionism. I am gradually finding out how the source of all mystical crap (eg, Crowley) that is actually in play NOW, has been seeded and developed in late 19th century England. Beware... well, anyone who is interested in PDF copy of that article can PM me. I am not sure I can safely copy paste because of copyright violations (The article is stlil on the "paid" section), but anyone who works in academia can access it free. So, to sum up: 1. We have a biopharma company, Gilead Sciences, that appears to be named after a fictional state of post-apocalyptic fascism, fuelled by false terror, in a hypothetical future USA. 2. Defense Secretary Rumsfeld and Former Attorney General Shultz are on the board of that company. Rumsfeld at least has been closely associated with Gilead since its earliest days. 3. Rumsfeld (and presumably Shultz) made a huge killing selling shares in that company, after its share price went up following lucrative government contracts to supply enormous quantities of a useless drug against an epidemic that was massively publicised (by the government) but never turned up. Rumsfeld was of course a very highly-placed member of that government; Shultz a "Chief Vulcan", associate of prominent neocons, and close advisor to the President (as well as to his father before him). 4. Philip Zack was a prime suspect in the anthrax attacks that terrified Congress into signing the Patriot Act unseen. Zack was never seriously investigated. The crime was never solved. Zack now works for Gilead. 5. British Prime Minister Tony Blair was recently Shultz's house guest, discussing binational business deals with Gilead Sciences for stem-cell research projects and perhaps more. 6. The US-British War on Terror (aka The Long War / World War III) is about to enter its sixth year with the opening of a third front in Lebanon, following Afghanistan and Iraq. NOTE: That's entirely leaving out Havanagilla's interesting remarks on the Biblical meaning of Gilead and its significance to the early Zionist movement. I'm not ruling anything out; but if there's one thing that strikes me about Gilead Sciences, Inc., it's the sheer number of Irish names on the board. Oliphant did not show any conspicuous parliamentary ability, but made a great success by his vivacious and witty novel, Piccadilly (1870). He fell, however, under the influence of the spiritualist prophet Thomas Lake Harris, who about 1861 had organized a small community, the Brotherhood of the New Life, which at this time was settled at Brocton on Lake Erie and subsequently moved to Santa Rosa, California. .... By that time, however, his mind was occupied with a large project of colonization in Palestine, and he made in 1879 an extensive journey in that country, going also to Constantinople, in the vain hope of obtaining a lease of the northern half of the Holy Land with a view to settling large numbers of Jews there.
