You 'Get' What You Plan For ...

Postby Starman » Wed Jul 20, 2005 3:07 am

From the Northcom site:
--excerpt--
. . .
Some of this year’s objectives for SR05 are to refine nuclear incident Concept of Operations, produce a CM Operation Order, refine command post set-up procedures and maintain situational awareness of multiple CM incidents.
. . .

“Each time we do one of these internal exercises, we try to make it more robust and try to add in fidelity,” Defluri said. “That’s what we’re trying to do for SR05: create a good scenario and be able to replicate the effects as best we can. That way we can give the command a really good CM exercise.”

--end quote--

Man, these guys LIVE for this shit -- all these neato, cool gadgets and guys and gals running around under you, no-questions-asked expense accounts and you KNOW you look sharp in your $1200 suit and squeeky-new Armani loafers, there's business meetings with top Pentagon Brass and major industry players, there's cool SUVs and radio-gadgets and big officials to impress and heavy-hitting powerpoint presentations with technical stuff that's over almost everybody's heads and you get to use these special important-sounding words and can walk around with a very alert, super-tuff self-aware nail-biting expression on your face and a super-duper spring in your step cuz you are just so jazzed you got to be honoured and trusted this way you just KNOW how critical your job saving America from the crazy Arab terror creeps is --

How come we never have extensive coordinated top-priority multi-agency Peace Drills? How come we never plan for the sudden outbreak of calm and justice? Why can't we have at LEAST equal-time with the military-war guys and have field-exercises and practice living together with respect and cooperation? Why can't we invent more words to describe the thousand-and-one varieties of peaceful coexistence and a state of mutually-beneficial International Relations? Why don't we have Peace Colleges and Peace Games and Peace Movies and Peace Bonds and greater opportunities for investment and business with Peace instead of War?

It's no wonder we have so much killing and death and conflict -- the big guys and self important politicos and top-brass punks are always planning for and training and equipping troops for war instead of peace, people don't even know what peace LOOKS like! They don't even know what it's GOOD for, what use is it? Is it any wonder terrorism is good for big-business, look how much the US has invested in promoting and encouraging terror! Perhaps the plan has always been to make peace such a rare exception that folks begin to forget what peace is for or what it looks like, so they won't notice when the government smart-people replace peace with terror, claiming that it makes us all safer.

Starman
