Slave state is one way of looking at it. Let me present another:

I'm currently working as a licensed pharmacy tech - just as long as it takes for me to make it through to my MA.

Let me tell you, the level of disinformation about the flu has been effectively disseminated by the MSM and the pharmaceutical industry. Since last week, we've had so many elderly customers call in or come down to speak to us, it's madness. They all want the vaccine. They are all afraid of dying in the coming Avian Flu pandemic.

This weekend, in response to consumer demand (I love retail BS), our store is having its first flu clinic. The cost is 'nominal.' One young woman, a front store employee, asked me if she and her family should get vaccinated. I told her flat out, no. I said that the elderly and those with respiratory conditions are most at-risk, but more to the point, every vaccine contains the virus. Did she understand this? She did not.

Some people contract the virus, once vaccinated. It's a crap shoot and most of the public has no freaking idea.

Not to mention, there is big $$$ to be made by getting the public to believe they are in danger of contracting this newest form of terror: BIRD FLU. In fact, both of our pharmacists have placed orders for hundreds of bottles of Tamiflu to make sure we do not run out. Speaking of drugs, I just found the following:

Quote:
October 3, 2005 - Avian flu boost for Biota as governments build stockpiles (requires registration) -

Stay out of public places if your area seems to have an outbreak. Other prophylactic measures: wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer afterward and between washings, keep yourself hydrated, rested, and take lots of Vitamin C, and above all, don't pay attention to government generated reports.

Those of you with children are more likely than anyone else to get sick. Kids are just a mass of germs, sniffling and sneezing on everyone. If your child gets sick, keep him/her at home. Those who are sent to school sick are going to infect other kids. I realize childcare is a problem, especially for single parents. However, sending sick kids to school has become a public health issue.

If you get sick, try to get through it without antibiotics. I am apalled by the number of Z-pak presecription that trot their way across my counter on a regular old Wednesday in wintertime. Holy crap! Pretty soon, those antibiotics won't work at all - they are not meant for viral infections and are less effective each time you take them. So try and tough it out if you catch the flu. Rest and push fluids, like we did in the olden days, when the only thing out there was penicillin and nobody took it unless they were practically dying.

That's my 2 cents worth. Stay well, people.

Morgan
