Why on earth would we feel safe...

I go to UM. In Ann Arbor, there are almost no laws.
It would take an actual terrorist attack here for people to tolerate the gvt. stepping in.

When Lennon's friend was arrested for possession (10 for 2?) it was Ann Arbor that broke him out. We don't like the government very much here in this mostly blue state. It is unlikely that college kids will tolerate this sort of nonsense for very long, especially given that Bush is losing his clout among the older generation. I don't think OBL himself blowing up the Statue of Liberty could turn the polls in W's favor at this point. Too much blood in the water now.

He said it was hilarious each time there was a Nixon press conference to walk across campus and hear coming out of the open windows people yelling at their televisions "F*ck you Nixon!"

Ann Arbor, the Berserkeley of the Midwest

I heard through the grapevine that my Rush-loving Republican brother got a job training security personnel for the airlines or something. He has NO experience in that field, or anything even remotely related to it. His qualifications? He's a born-again Republican Christian. Yeah, that makes me feel really, really safe.
