How Do You Put On Your Bra?

Okay, lay-deez - this is obviously a subject worth gettiing into; and I think it deserves it's own thread, rather than proving a distraction in the Kubrick thread.

There seem to be two distinct schools here; hook up in front, twist around, or the Kidman Stretch, as demonstrated on Eyes Wide Shut. My own preference (talking as a spectator) is definitely the Kidman Stretch. It arcs the body in a pleasingly erotic manner and ... hold on ... Jeff's on the White Phone ... oh. Apparently we can't do this here, either.

I prefer the pullover sports bra. My husband does, too. No more pesky little hook things. --MaryK

the more practical way of hooking at front and turning looks funny - - remember school changing rooms? definitely unfilmic

I hate them too and don't wear them unless I'm at work. They are so confining! And the straps are always slipping. There's no such thing as a perfect bra.

As you all have already seen my posts on the Kubrick thread, I hook in front and then turn the thing around. I know it's not an elegant way of doing it, but I'm not dexterous enough to do it Kidman-style. It is beginning to look like I'm in the minority!

Oh, and to the person who started this thread. Why don't you ask how we get them off? That could be very interesting. Especially if we are trying not to be seen when doing it. There's the old unhook, slide one arm out and give ia yank on the other strap trick... (mostly used to take off bathing suit tops in obscure places but also works for bras).

okay, as long as we're talking about it...

Breast size is almost completely unimportant to me. If anything, I don't like them too big- over 40DD is too much, unless you have the frame to carry it.

34AA is just fine. Artificial breasts are for reconstructive surgery, not cosmetic "enhancement."

As for tattoos and piercings...don't get me started. Women, you wouldn't believe how many guys you lose like that. The nicest thing I can say about tattoos is that they don't look that bad once they've been removed. As for piercings...keep them away from your lips and tongue, and I'll be able to look at you without wincing. Otherwise, no guarantees.

One of the biggest disappointments I've ever had was seeing a girl whose symettrical lips were among her best features, sporting a brand new lip ring- off-center, at that. She looked like a hooked fish. That was the first time I'd ever seen a lip ring- June, 1994. I've never forgotten the letdown.

Of course, I didn't tell her...never brought it up, acted as if everything was fine.

Edited by: robertdreed at: 12/8/05 10:49 pm

Personally, I prefer to go without a bra, it just feels better. But years ago, I read an interview with Marilyn Monroe in which she said that she always slept in her bra, it kept her firm and high. She even showed off her endowments to the photog, through a diaphanous scarf; looked like it had worked, she looked great and she was thirty six at the time. I took her advice and did the same thing all these years, and it does work!

I recommend keeping them away from high voltage circuits.

One huge advantage of moving to the East Coast that I've noticed so far...a lot more women without trendy disfigurements.

I can only imagine what the "new primitives" will look like in 20 years...too bad they don't seem to be able to think that far ahead.

Harsh? Well...Quentin Tarantino put his $.02 in- a lot more than that, actually- and now I'm putting my culturally relative $.02 in. An attempt at prevention...

I'm recalling a recent comment on another bulletin board I visit occasionally about a rock concert that the poster had attended, commenting on how foxy the women in their 40s- and yes, 50s- were, and how the 20somethings looked so skanky in comparison...the poster was in his 20s.

oh yeah- sunny, that's great news I;')

Edited by: robertdreed at: 12/8/05 11:13 pm
