Yeah and Sheol translates to hell

Postby Tetsuro » Fri Dec 23, 2005 2:57 pm

If you believe in the "hell" that you seem to it's not your fault. You have been misled.
bible-truths.com/lake16-B.html
has the answer to the question of the origin of this whole, horrible, evil, most tragic chain of evilness.
I would love to hear your take on this, smaller
peace

a taste...

Postby Tetsuro » Fri Dec 23, 2005 3:00 pm

There is NO Scriptural or rational reason for translating the Hebrew word sheol into the English word "hell" at all—NONE! And there surely is no reason to use the word hell in light of the fact that the Old English meaning of this word has been grossly perverted by the Christian church beyond recognition over the past four centuries"
-L.R.Smith
ever heard of this guy?

Hi Tetsuro

Yes, I do believe there is a hell, a Lake of Fire, and eternal torment. Just not for people.

Part of the reason I posted what I did above is that many of R.I. blogs bring up the subject of satanic ritual stuff. This is nothing new. The O.T. is filled with instances of people involved with various forms of satanic worship. There are such influences upon mankind without any doubt.

From a biblical perspective God did in fact make anti-Christ spirits. These spirits are real. These spirits can influence people. They certainly do, as is amply evidenced in our world everyday. And these things are viciously vilely evil to the core.

These things will find their end in the Lake of Fire.

What you write about is a branch of Christian Universalism that tries to deny hell and eternal torment and that also promotes the salvation of the devil and his messengers. I do not hold to those views, but am sympathetic in general to their overall position in that all of mankind shall be saved.

That's my take in short.

enjoy!

smaller

well...

I love how people always want to dismiss reason by connecting it to "the Universalist church" or a cult or something similar.
Unfortunately, smaller, the real truth will not be believed by almost everyone. Am I claiming that I in my quite feeble mental capacities have found THE REAL TRUTH?
sort of.
AT LEAST IF YOU HAVE THE CORRECT TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE YOU CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.
sorry to shout but you completely dismissed the fact that is revealed by the mistranslation of the word "sheol" by trying to connect me to unaversalism.
bite me.

Hi Tetsuro

There is no need to rid ourselves of temporal or eternal judgment. If anything we need to stand up to judgment both personally and spiritually.

If you read the opening post closely you will find that yes, we can adhere to every eternal torment/eternal hell scripture and still retain the legitimate belief that all people are saved and that was kinda my entire point. The Bible gives us an excellent instrument to see and understand some of what is going on in this present world, and yes, some of these things are kinda weird as Mr. Wells so aptly points out. Bizarre even. I don't think anyone really "gets it."

But you know, as also pointed out in the opening post some will immediately and always insist that God is going to burn people alive in fire ala St. (whatever his name is above,) a belief that I totally reject via sound scriptural rendering, and you present another side of the equation, that there is no eternal judgment or eternal hell. There most certainly is and there is no reason or use to deny it.

That is where most of this stuff is going to end and this is a portion of our mutual HOPE.

In the meantime we keep our eyes open.

enjoy!

smaller
