Bio-weapons: Lyme Disease

Postby thrulookingglass » Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:38 am

I have previously mentioned the book Lab 257 which details evidence that Plum Island CDC worked to make this virus more harmful. A new book has arrived, Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons which basically reinforces the same claims, though the author also states that Fort Meade was involved as well.

This quest led her to Willy Burgdorfer, the Lyme microbe’s discoverer, who revealed that he had developed bug-borne bioweapons during the Cold War, and believed that the Lyme epidemic was started by a military experiment gone wrong.

As I have suffered Lyme Disease myself, suffice to say I'm a little pissed off at this snippet of history. I'm sure that these things are true and that the truth will never be brought to light. Lab 257 states that paperclip Nazi Eric Traub worked on making Lyme Disease more damaging adding to my pain. I would recommend these books to help familiarize yourself with this subject matter. I would also encourage you to help propagate this story. The US Congress needs to foster an investigation into the truth behind this painful disease which afflicts an estimated 300,000 peoples each and every year. F U C K W A R by the way, you've ruined my life!

To detail some of my suffering from Lyme disease, besides the initial illness with fever and general malaise, many of my joints including my spine, knees, wrists, elbows and shoulders have on occasion had very painful 'arthritic' like symptoms limiting movement and creating severe discomfort. I am not alone and that isn't comforting at all.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke

Any information gathered on this subject would be appreciated. If you are a US citizen please inform your congresspersons and elected officials to investigate the origins of Lyme Disease for those of us that suffer deserve the truth and possibly compensation. I'll tell you this though I DON'T WANT A FUCKING COIN FROM A GOVERNMENT THAT WOULD DO THIS TO ITS CITIZENRY!

Sorry to hear about your suffering, thrulookingglass, and thanks for drawing our attention to this book.

I was going to say that I am a little surprised that the pharmaceutical side of the military-pharmaceutical complex has not stepped in (with a vaccine) to profit from the military's diabolical ingenuity, but, doing a websearch, immediately saw what I had suspected must be the reason: "A Lyme disease vaccine is no longer available. The vaccine manufacturer discontinued production in 2002, citing insufficient consumer demand."

Thanks so much for posting this and writing about your own experience, thrulookingglass, much of which I unfortunately share and so can relate. Since reading about Kris Newby's book several days ago (WAPO, of course, lost no time in 'squashing' the story) I’ve been grappling w/taking it in because I believe this could be true and it’s overwhelming, enraging & validating for me. To say my health & well-being have been severely compromised by decades-long chronic Lyme Disease (along with some hard-to-separate-out physical manifestations of PTSD) would be an understatement.

I won’t go into details about my own decades long experiences with the failure of traditional and alternative treatments, disdain and dismissal from medical professionals, cost, heartbreak, disability etc... But, germane to the subject--or not--while being treated in the early ‘90s by the only doctor in the Washington area who recognized and treated chronic Lyme Disease, I worked at a non-profit organization that attracted many people from divergent backgrounds as participants and volunteers. One such was a retiree from a top tier government agency who frequented the office. He came across as a jovial, goofy, grand-fatherly type, but I didn’t trust him because I suspected his self dumbing-down was an act, he was spooky snoopy and also I couldn’t figure out how someone so seemingly naive could also be so well-traveled, well-connected and well-off financially. One day he called me and asked that we meet somewhere where we could walk and talk. All I recall from our brief meeting was that his demeanor wasn’t the usual ditzy-ness; he was aloof and somber and he warned me that I needed to take Lyme Disease very seriously. He wouldn’t elaborate, just that, take it seriously and in years since, I’ve sometimes wondered why he wanted to meet outside the office just to tell me that, with no explanation...maybe it was just some friendly advice w/no ulterior motive or message, but I’ll never know.

The scope of the malevolent research and developments practiced at Fort Detrick, Plum Island and many of the other facilities that thrived on generating suffering for millions of people and animals will, of course, never be known. I guess we’re ‘lucky’ they didn’t figure out how to release Rabies into ticks and other ectoparasites.

From Business Insider, more than a bit less derisive than WAPO’s treatment of possible DOD involvement.

Lawmaker from a Lyme-plagued district demands to know if DoD scientists ever used infected ticks as weapons

Ellen Ioanes Jul. 22, 2019

The US military has a long history of developing dangerous chemical weapons, from Agent Orange, a defoliant that has left Vietnam-era vets with Leukemia and other life-threatening illnesses, to the nerve agent VX, which killed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's half-brother Kim Jong Nam in minutes in 2017.

But a New Jersey lawmaker is concerned that the Pentagon may be hiding research about developing Lyme disease as a biological weapon, part of an unlikely theory that these alleged experiments led to increased Lyme disease infections in the US.

Rep. Christopher Smith of New Jersey proposed an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which passed the House last week, requiring the Department of Defense Inspector General investigate whether the DoD experimented with using ticks to spread diseases like Lyme between 1950 and 1975.

"Lyme Disease is endemic to his District," a spokesperson for Rep. Christopher Smith told INSIDER, referring to the book "Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease," which posits that some diseased ticks were released from government facilities, causing a spike in Lyme cases.

Some experts caution against the book's claims, stating that Lyme has been evident in humans for centuries, on top of questions about how tick-borne illnesses would make sense as a military weapon.

Smith's amendment is based on the idea that insects infected with Lyme disease may have escaped from government labs at Plum Island, New York, and Fort Detrick, Maryland and then begun infecting the civilian population.

"Lyme Disease is endemic to his District. The recently published book ['Bitten'] leaves questions about tick-borne diseases as bioweapons unanswered," Julia Nesta, a spokesperson for Smith, told INSIDER via email. Smith's office did not respond to a request for further information.

Smith's office referred to "Bitten: The Secret History of Lyme Disease," by Kris Newby, a science writer and former Lyme sufferer. "Bitten" relies on interviews with the late Willy Burgdorfer, a Swiss-born scientist who worked as a bioweapons specialist for the Defense Department and is credited with discovering the bacteria that causes Lyme disease.

Smith said there was evidence that Burgdorfer and his colleagues "stuffed ticks with pathogens to cause severe disability, disease — even death — to potential enemies."

"With Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases exploding in the United States — with an estimated 300,000 to 437,000 new cases diagnosed each year and 10-20 percent of all patients suffering from chronic Lyme disease — Americans have a right to know whether any of this is true," Smith said on the House floor.

Newby's book posits that the DoD research facilities could have released diseased ticks into the general population, causing an increase in Lyme disease cases during the middle of the 20th century, according to Newsweek.

Newby spoke with INSIDER via phone, saying that Burgdorfer's original lab notes and and letters, as well as interviews with the scientist when he was in his 80s and suffering from Parkinson's, suggest that he was putting biological agents like Venezuelan equine encephalitis in ticks. Newby said that the insects that concerned her were those infected with Lyme and another illness — what she calls a "germ gang bang."

^^^This is an extraordinary number of new cases and probably misleading if ‘diagnosed’ is based on how a tick bite looks; it’s my understanding that the protocol for tick bites in many N.E. areas is prophylactic antibiotic treatment prescribed without tests taken. Whether or not a person is infected w/a disease isn’t known, so it’s not an ‘official’ diagnosis, but the numbers indicate an enormous public health crisis the CDC and the medical profession aren’t addressing and acting on. And, the numbers don’t include people who don’t go to the doctor for whatever reason, or don’t know they’ve been bitten and may be infected with something that may, or may not, respond to treatment, and is it good medicine to treat, almost wholesale, with antibiotics without knowing what’s being treated, etc...

^^^I talked to a friend the other day who frequently hikes in wooded or rural areas, is often bitten, and recently saw her doctor about an inflamed, itchy tick bite. He prescribed a broad spectrum antibiotic “to cover the myriad of diseases ticks now carry”. My friend has 2 friends also recently bitten and prescribed the same treatment, and so forth and so on...

^^^She told me but I didn't write it down and forgot the name. I need to call her -- I know it wasn't Doxycycline, which used to be the antibiotic generally prescribed (I was once taking it for almost a year).

I trust that the unfortunately afflicted present here are aware of these two books by Stephen Harrod Buhner:

Healing Lyme Disease Coinfections: Complementary and Holistic Treatments for Bartonella and Mycoplasma

A guide to the natural treatment of two of the most common and damaging coinfections of Lyme disease–Bartonella and Mycoplasma
• Reveals how these conditions often go undiagnosed, complicate Lyme treatment, and cause a host of symptoms–from arthritis to severe brain dysfunction
• Outlines natural treatments for both infections, with herbs and supplements for specific symptoms and to combat overreactions of the immune system
• Reviews the latest scientific research on Bartonella and Mycoplasma coinfections and how treatment with antibiotics is often ineffective.

Each year Harvard researchers estimate there are nearly 250,000 new Lyme disease infections–only 10 percent of which will be accurately diagnosed. One of the largest factors in misdiagnosis of Lyme is the presence of other tick-borne infections, which mask or aggravate the symptoms of Lyme disease as well as complicate treatment. Two of the most common and damaging Lyme coinfections are Bartonella and Mycoplasma. Nearly 35 million people in the United States are asymptomatically infected with each of these pathogens, and at least 10 percent will become symptomatic every year–with symptoms ranging from arthritis to severe brain dysfunction.
Distilling hundreds of peer-reviewed journal articles on the latest scientific research on Bartonella, Mycoplasma, and Lyme disease, Stephen Buhner examines the complex synergy between these infections and reveals how all three can go undiagnosed or resurface after antibiotic treatment. He explains how these coinfections create cytokine cascades in the body–essentially sending the immune system into an overblown, uncontrolled response in much the same way that rheumatoid arthritis or cancer can. Detailing effective natural holistic methods centered on herbs and supplements, such as the systemic antibacterial herb Sida acuta, which acts to protect blood cells from invading organisms, he reveals how to treat specific symptoms, interrupt the cytokine cascades, and bring the immune system back into balance as well as complement ongoing Lyme disease treatments.

Natural Treatments for Lyme Coinfections: Anaplasma, Babesia, and Ehrlichia

A guide to the natural treatment of three coinfections of Lyme disease

• Reviews the latest scientific research on Babesia, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma

• Reveals how these three conditions often go undiagnosed, complicate the treatment of Lyme disease, and cause symptoms from headache to seizures

• Outlines effective natural treatments with herbs and supplements for specific symptoms and to combat overreactions of the immune system and the inflammation response

Harvard researchers estimate there are nearly 250,000 new Lyme disease infections each year--only 10 percent of which will be accurately diagnosed. One of the largest factors in misdiagnosis of Lyme is the presence of other tick-borne infections, which mask or aggravate the symptoms of Lyme disease as well as complicate treatment. Three newly emergent Lyme coinfections are Babesia, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma. Tens of thousands of people are known to be asymptomatically infected and at least ten percent will become symptomatic this year--with symptoms ranging from chronic headache and arthritis to seizures.

Distilling the latest scientific research on Babesia, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, and Lyme disease, Stephen Buhner examines the complex synergy between these infections and reveals how they can go undiagnosed or resurface after antibiotic treatment. He explains how these organisms create cytokine cascades in the body--essentially sending the immune system into an overblown, uncontrolled inflammatory response in much the same way rheumatoid arthritis or cancer can.

Providing an in-depth guide for those suffering from Babesia, Ehrlichia, or Anaplasma infection as well as for clinicians who work with those infected by these organisms, Buhner details effective natural holistic methods centered on herbs and supplements, such as Ashwaganda and Chinese Skullcap, and reveals how to treat specific symptoms, interrupt the cytokine cascades, reduce inflammation, and bring the immune system back into balance. He explains how these natural methods not only complement conventional Lyme disease treatments involving antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals but also provide relief when other forms of treatment have failed.

Antibiotic was Clindamycin, but my friend's not sure about dosage or duration, just that pills were very large.

Back to OP;

Occurred to me also that maybe an(other) enemy state also created tick-borne bioweapons and delivered to U.S., or Burgdorfer sold his findings, or other variations of passing on bio-warfare skulduggery.
