Exorcist "will slay Amy demons"

9th March 2008

TROUBLED soul singer Amy Winehouse could have her demons driven out by the world’s foremost exorcist.

American Rev Bob Larson – soon to be a star on British TV – has volunteered to save the Rehab star from self-destruction by “ridding her of the devil”.

And the world’s No.1 demon hunter, who has conducted more than 10,000 exorcisms over 30 years, says he is Amy’s only salvation from going Back To Black.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star Sunday, the Rev Bob, who will seek the star out during a forthcoming visit to Britain, said: “Amy Winehouse is in my opinion possessed.

“She is obviously suffering from drug addictions and other problems but the likelihood is that is not all.

“People are more susceptible to being possessed when they have bruised souls and I think Amy is a classic example.”

Larson, whose Spiritual Freedom Church is based in Denver, will be hitting our TV screens later this month on Virgin 1’s shocking new series The Real Exorcist.

The show follows the demon slayer around as he carries out dangerous exorcisms on camera.

Larson believes he is the perfect person to help self-harming Amy.

He added: “People in show- business are extravagant – we know that.

“But when they become completely self-destructive it is contradictory to what they should be doing with their talent.

“When this happens you have to ask whether it is the devil’s work. After all, that is what the devil sets out to do – destroy.

“This is obviously just a long-distance diagnosis and I’m not passing judgment. But in her case there are a lot of similarities to possessed people.

“I would love 15 minutes with her to see whether I could help her.

“A lot of the time people appear utterly ordinary to the outside world but inside they are in living hell.”

Despite being one of the world’s most talented singers, Amy’s career is being overshadowed by her bizarre behaviour.

She has been in and out of rehab for drink and drug addictions.

And according to the Rev, Britney Spears could also be under the devil’s influence.

He added: “Britney is another classic example. She obviously has multiple personalities which is another tell-tale sign.”

The Real Exorcist premieres on Virgin 1 on Wednesday, March 19, at 10pm.

Does anyone here know about the time John Safran was exorcised by Bob Larson?

I'm pretty sure I posted about it.

This is the second time, 82_28, that I have seen you write that phrase in that manner, and each time I have, it has grated upon my sensibility of proper crassness somewhat. Now, although the earliest print citation of the usage occurring in Norman Mailer's The Naked and the Dead is "You're fuggin ay," and the Urban Dictionary currently spells it "fuckin eh", I would say that your particular spelling is the first time I've seen it used quite that way. And though the origin of the phrase is lost to the winds of vulgar sidewalk conversational history, I don't think it is considered widely as an exhortation to actually penetrate the letter "A" with your cock or some similar appurtenance, as in "Good sir, kindly take hold of the primary alphabetical symbol and insert your turgid member into it as many number of times as you might require in order to achieve orgasm." That is to say, the "FUCK AN" part of your message above nearly universally understood to be a contraction of the adverbial or adjectival form of the word "fucking".

My own preferred usage is generally spelled fuckin' 'A' or sometimes with a dash, as in fuckin' -a or, when I'm feeling in an expansive mood, I spell it out completely to give the letter "G" its proper and fully pronounced due. But I realize that these things are consequent upon the vernacular of regional localities, and so I don't expect or desire that you change being the beautiful thing you are to please what may prove to be my sorry provincialism. I just found myself unable to pass up the second viewing without comment, to my embarrassment and dismay. It's a curse.

Sadly or not, you are not alone, b. I am sensitive that way, and it can be a curse, I suppose. I admit to checking the urban dictionary myself. This definition accords with my own:
Fucking Amen, as in agreement with a statement. However, the speaker will not say the Amen part fully as not to blaspheme against God. Stupid teenagers will sometimes use it in a derogatory sense as a way of saying "fucking asshole" but teenagers are stupid as hell.
"Dude this pancake is the shit."
"Fuckin A dude."

I'm a language freak kinda, so it's not personal in any way. Just FYI.

LOL. Yeah, there's always been some debate on that.

Growing up in the verdant garden of suburban Denver, friends and I often speculated on what the actual words in the phrase were. We decided it had to be "fuck an A", because some girl we knew would say "why don't you fuck an O, it's more round". So think of it as a unique colloquialism of mine and the deep culture from which I hail. All hinging upon some girl we knew, named DeeDee.

That's actually somewhat interesting, believe it or not. My ear literally hears it as fuck an a, as has been established. I wonder what kind of cascading behavioral traits of mine come from this? Like a butterfly flapping it's wings in the Canary Islands producing a hurricane elsewhere. I too, Perelandra am somewhat of a language freak too, really. Yet when it comes down to it, the only word I really ever wanted to study was probably the word "fuck" and why the fuck I have to use it so much.

It's fuckin' A, as in "fucking amen."

If the exorcist ties Amy to a bed as in The Exorcist, after about 10 hours you're going to see projectile vomiting and convulsions that would scare the shit out of anyone

Make sure you have a doctor and some husky orderlies on hand, Pastor Bob.

No it's not. I am standing my ground. Has always been the far more nonsensical, "Fuck an A".

I hear ya guys. It makes perfect sense and I was aware of the "fuckin' amen" meaning. I just won't ever be able to shake that spelling of mine though. My brain is branded with it. So forgive me in the future, when I will undoubtedly use it again.

I think too, as far of my usage of the term goes, I normally use it as a curse, not a superlative like the Big Lebowski quote.

As in, "Fuck an A, what a motherfucking dangerous idiot Glenn fucking Beck is."

But rarely: "Fuck an A, that is one sweet car."

It's just a strange idiosyncrasy of my childhood. It's only in the past few years that I've been able to purge myself of my childhood tendency to pronounce "both" as "bolth".

Long live "Fuck an A"! No exorcist will ever take it from me dammit.

Amy needs to get to her bed, and sleep in it. That would solve most of her problems at a stroke. Who looks at a person in the state that Amy Winehouse is in and thinks - this girl needs more drama! And it should be televised! Her Dad has always been an arsehole, with a deep unhealthy thirst for attention, but this is a new wrinkle.

This is abiout as dumb as the Chechen bride exorcisms, which are extremely dumb. None of these people are demonically posessed, so no ammount of exorcism will help them. And even if exorcism would help them, it won't anyway, because the exorcists are clearly knobends.

Amy needs her bed, and a good dinner. That's my professional opinion on the matter.
