Dear God

Postby dude h homeslice ix » Thu Oct 05, 2006 7:14 pm

I pray to you now,
That the recent scandal involving Mark Foley’s indiscretions with underage boys
Will at last marry the widespread reports of pedophilia among the elites of the nation
With the instant global distribution of information possible in the age of the internet
And the 24/7 cable news cycle.
I pray that the next time something like the Franklin Coverup is up for documentary coverage
On the discovery channel or other mainstream media outlet in primetime hours,
That the story will not be suppressed and made to go away to protect those evil men
Who prey on the young people of the world and of our country.
I pray that justice will at last be served, and that partisan motivations and legalistic parsing
Will at last be wholly engulfed by a searing wave of truth fueled by an angry American public
Finally and forever informed and enraged at the unbearable truth
Unmistakably and undeniably shoved into their faces.

For justice, for sunlight, and yea, for retribution.
This I pray,
Amen.

Avalon, that was beyond poor taste! How dare you do that "keyword hijacking" stuff with the 23rd psalm, just for a cheap laugh.

God said

Nearly everyone I know claims to have heard your voice
And every time they do, I know I should rejoice
Because one day I'm sure you’ll break your silence
And speak just to me
But I feel like time's running out
And my heart, my heart is filling with doubt
And god said

I don't dwell upon you, I dwell on something else
And I am not really here so get over your self

I've tried to follow every rule they said you handed down
And spread the sacred testimony all around
And still the others seem to have your ear but never will I
Have I displeased you somehow?
I can't, I can't help feeling left out
And god said

There's no anger in me, you must mean someone else
Cause it's not me that you see, you're looking at yourself
And I won't give you a prize instead of someone else
Cause I don't play favorites, so get over yourself

Is it my fear, is it my pride, is it my vanity?
Should your name just be denied to save my sanity?
What is the price I need to pay to have
What others seem to grasp so easily?
Pity your servant your slave
Who'll kiss, kiss your feet to be saved
Save me, save me...
And god said

You are not serving me, you're serving something else
Cause I don't need to be pleased, just get over yourself
You can't suck up to me, I know you all too well
But I don't dwell upon you, so get over yourself
Cause you're not praying to me, you're praying to yourself
And you're not worshipping me you're worshipping yourself
And you will kill in my name and heaven knows what else
When you can't prove I exist so get over yourself

-Todd Rundgren

well this went from being my prayer to being a god bashing thread. beleive me ive done the same for years.

every now and again something comes along big enough for me to get over myself and suspend disbelief and just fucking pray for justice. anyone know of anything else thats working right now? this whole internet pat-ourselves-on-the-back-cuz-we-know-we-are-fucked thing sure aint fixin the world. maybe its time to put our heads between our knees, kiss our asses goodbye in advance, and fall back on the power of prayer(tm) which i hear can sometimes be used as a flotation device in the event of loss of cabin pressure.

so i tell you what: if within the next 90 days a special on elite pedophilia in the US government makes it mainstream, i will accept Jesus as my personal trainer.

Praise the Lizord(tm).

I certainly didn't mean to "bash God".

Postby TroubleFunk » Fri Oct 06, 2006 9:00 pm

Sorry, dude h, I certainly didn't mean to "bash God", as you put it. Personally, I hope your prayers are answered! I'd love to see that show you're talking about, though while you're praying, you might want to request an audience for the show (while you're at it).

If there turns out to be no justice after finally being "reduced" to praying, are you going to assume that your prayers didn't work? That God doesn't want the same justice you do? That the God-bashers cancelled your prayers out? That God's not listening? That there is no God? I hope "none of the above" - unanswered prayers being part of the mystery of faith.

And All Across America
The Poison Fires Glow
And In The Blood Of Our Procreation
Annihilation Grows
Yes Love Was Made For Slaves Like Us
Designed To Fetishize
Consumption, Waste And An Identity
Based On A Dying Lie
So God Forgive America
The End Of History Is Now
And God May Save The Victim
But Only The Murderer Holds Real Power
We Came Across The Seas
We'd Fill With Offal And Disgust
And Any Object Industry Required
We Bought, Enslaved, Or We Crushed
And Now Our Minds Are As Naked
As The Paradise We Stripped
And Our Reward Is Our Entropy
Our Emptiness Is Our Gift
So God Forgive America
And Every Human On This Earth
And God Forgive The Ruined Lives
Nothing Is What It's Worth

-swans
