The drug isn't just for generic 'back pain' which I've experienced for years, it's specifically for the pain you get from a pinched nerve, which not even painkillers seem to be able to slow down.
While I am familiar with the negative side affects of this drug, and its other "uses" and the lawsuits stemming from them (i.e. they tried to sell it to bipolar patience with disastrous results), it does seem to slow down the pinched nerve pain in my back, which is extremely helpful and, I daresay, worthwhile at least at this point in my life.
I did yoga for years, and it was a godsend, but lately that has just messed things up more, honestly. Everything that used to work for the generic back pain now exacerbates the pinched-nerve pain. Which is really annoying, honestly.
I hope I don't have to stay on it forever, but for now it seems to help. Honestly, too, the mood stabilization affects are for real, and right now they are welcome, too. My life is in such a mess right now I can use all the mood stabilization I can get, especially considering I can't take anything else for that, for a variety of reasons.
