Stephen Morgan
And as 2011 has been worse than I expected I don't feel like sighing with relief.

Thanks for bringing the party down, Nostradamus. Does Abe Vigoda make it another year?

I feel somewhat relieved to have completed a full year of modhood having lost nothing more valuable than my dignity, my sense of humor, and my faith in the constancy of human goodness.

And also, to you all...

You once had " faith in the constancy of human goodness."? What were you doing at RI?

I must've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque some random "flying rod" site.

And now this.

Bullpucky. You are more dignified, your humor is subtler, more biting and funny, and, well, who ever needed that third one?

Speaking for myself, I'll borrow a favorite from a friend: NDY! (not dead yet) Woohoo!
All thanks to good surgeons, great docs, great friends, and people who don't carry out threats.

Happy New Year all.

I dunno, he hasn't posted anything as funny as the penguin with the jet pack in a long time.

In many threads this year, you have been like a cross between So-Crates, a Zen version of Groucho Marx and a Heavyweight Division WWE wrestling referee. I admire the bejaysus out of the way you have done it.

and being around Pere just makes me want to live up to the line from the Holy Script of Him Whose Name is Earl : "I'm just tryin to be a bettur persin"

Thank you - and the inimitable Mr Wells :leprechaun:

i believe I've pointed out before, that Abraham Charles "Abe" Vigoda CAN NOT DIE. He's over several tens of thousands of years old already. Unfortunately, in order to preserve his secret, human civilization will need to be wiped out so that all trace of his true age is lost to the future ages. It's sad, but has happened many times before already. so deal. but don't worry, after we're all scratching in the dirt again, Father Abe will come around and teach us to make fire, AGAIN. Maybe we'll get it right next time :eeyaa

Speaking of not dying, did anyone see Dick Clark last night on the New Year's show?

He's 81 now, according to the internet (how can he be that young?) and he was sitting in a chair, looking rather propped-up, with some truly professional but nonetheless cadaverous makeup which actually managed to make him sorta look about 55 or so. But what was really weird was his voice. Low and gutteral, obviously affected by some kind of stroke. Yet there he was, doing yet another New Year's Eve show, although sparingly, mainly it was that Ryan Seacrest freak.

It was just weird as all hell.
