I kind of hoped you'd disagree with the bit where I said I was a cowardly weakling. Hehehe. No worries though. I will now drink to you as well, because I already finished my drink to Mac.

Are you moving to Europe, then? In the least jingoistic way possible, I love these Isles, and would die for them, or in their defence, if they were ever threatened. It is sad that they are not threatened - and yet our armies are overseas, creating threats.

You'll like it here too, though, I bet.

As much as I love what i've seen of the rest of the world, I still like this place best. It has got all my people and money in it.

Ack! I did not notice that as one of my recent requests was to ban all efforts at self disparagement on the board! I am not moving to the Isles, but to NY which is far closer than I am now. It is a half way point to Europe where I hope to retire one day.

Please put whiskys for Ahabs and Mac on my tab, I just want to hear them rant in those adorable accents again.

He poured her another as she sat sad and glassy-eyed, and apparently tried to relate a story about librarians.

Wish ya'll could have been there, well, up until that point because it only got worse after. Luckily the damage was mostly internal.

Thank you for the toasts!

Oh lady, I thoroughly enjoyd hanging at the real Saloon with you & sorry things were internaly sad :( I do hope to hang with you there again really soon, since I'm only a short train ride away. And before you are off to NY...

And btw, librarian types are dang sexy sometimes...

I'm not much of a drinker DD, rarely touch the stuff.

But I'll raise my glass to the soldiers who have gone to jail for refusing to fight in these unjust wars and occupations.

It's all about personal responsibility.

I pray for the children and families caught-up in the ugliness of war.

Sorry DD.

What did you expect from an old hippie?

Hi Lady P.
Please do join me anytime, we've got some conversations to continue! Perhaps I'll hop on a train myself, I haven't been to the VAG in a number of years.

Christ. I thought you were moving to Shetland - not Staten Island!

I ended up skipping Thursday, as a day in itself , but I have checked out the RI Art Exhibition now, and I loved it. Was kind of stunned by it, in fact. But that's for another subject.

Thanks for the whisky, Perelandra. It did the job. I'll drink it to what Username said, because it's right. Conscientious Objectors are the fiercest soldiers of all - that's why they always get shot first.

I'll buy a round for everyone here on this stressful day for many a procrastinating US citizen.

I'm happy because apparently my business tanked enough in '09 that I don't owe any taxes! Yeah!!!! (I guess... anyone need a website?)

Gosh, with the week I've had, haven't been able to come here for awhile....so first, because of some real 'insight' will toast all our soldiers, especially the brave enough who don't think it's neccessary to come home and whine about what they volunteered to do :)

Don't do this often, but am gonna toast myself, for realizing what it is about that damn 'wikileaks' thread that triggers me :) You might not agree, and more power to you, but I 'believe' in what I did, am thankful I 'get' what it's all about, and wouldn't change the soldier I was or still am!!!!!

Thirdly, here's a toast to all you 'weeny' new soldiers, those who empathize with you, and all those who think 'real' soldiers are brutes!!!!.....Cheers!!!!!

I'm being toasted in my absence! Thank you, Perelandra & Project Willow. :lovehearts: I should really come in here more often. Unfortunately I'm not drinking at the moment, so I'll just have to leave you with some primitive and barbaric ranting & whooping & growling & drumming. Aaargh! :trippin: (Yesyes, barman, I know I'm barred, I'm already on my way out... Aaargh.)
