That's not a blue thing; that's Iggle Piggle from In the Night Garden! I might even watch it even if I didn't have young kids. It's full of daydreams and pretty pictures.

But nothing's better than Brooksie.

I was raised to feel excruciatingly guilty for being pleased by anything entertaining. And it worked,

So I don't discriminate. They're all guilty pleasures to me!

And oh, do I love them.

Welcome, sunny and those who groove on everything fairy-ful, welcome to Mermaidia...

This movie, part two of the Barbie Fairytopia trilogy has been screened more times at my home than I will willingly put a number on. Did you know that Barbie was an actress? Well, she is and she appears in about a dozen different CGI films playing a variety of characters, all produced by Mattel. Ahh, to star in a movie produced by Mattel!

Above is Bibble, a puff ball that is Barbie's companion (pet?) who speaks indecipherable gibberish throughout the Fairytopia universe and lives with the fairy Barbie in a peony. In my favorite Bibble moment, he eats a "magic berry," which gives him a new singing voice - that of an (uncredited) Barry White clone. The mermaids' blushing and lusty reaction ("How long is this going to last?" "Not nearly long enough!") to Bibble's new found sensual profundo basso is indeed, a guilty pleasure, unsavory, and goes unmentioned by me anywhere but here...

Wheww! Am I glad I got that off my chest. Now, back to something more wholesome.
