I really like where it is going... I think it needs to be a little less tall though. (in reference to it fitting into the darksunyellow theme, I mean)

You're right, I'll make it shorter. I usually start large and scale down and not vice versa so I don't end up with pixelation. The default theme(getaway_dark blue) now has the new RI banner, and the height is set at 200 pixels, which is a good compromise, I think. Any less and details in the art will be lost.

Any time a website makes a significant change in its interface, users are bound to have an emotional reaction, whether it be excitement, hesitancy, anger, confusion or any other feeling that comes from having a real or perceived investment in a virtual community.




In these dark days of 24-hour television news and the instant gratification of Google and Wiki knowledge, the design alone of the new major medium can seem garish and repulsive to anyone with a developed sense of newspaper design, tabloid or otherwise.

Despite these obstacles, the denizens of RI persevere.

Falling to the array of choices available at the updated Rigorous Intuition discussion board, even Jack Riddler selects an avatar, and, with his newly-acquired coding knowledge at the fore of his mind, begins his quest for the Holy Grail of print-style Internet interaction, a complete perfection of form and functionality.

Also thank you for finding me a less angry Shakespeare. (Mine was the first that comes up on a google image search where you specify dimensions of exactly 140x140, in case anyone wants to know my useless personal trivia. But as these things happen, I like it. Or, in the Bard's own immortal words: "To be or not to be... Grrrrrrrrr!")

I was amused to see the spots on the... octopus?, spreading and moving over towards the skull.

Seems the coder didn't add a link for it in the style. You can still use that theme, just bookmark the rss page here:

in arcadia, do the unread titles HAVE to be in red?

Alaya, I'm sorry to hear that you are having that trouble, but we have nine themes for you to choose from, and I won't have the opportunity to custom color any of them. I'm pretty sure Jeff and Miss Willow will be introducing at least one custom color variation of the default themes, so maybe talk with Project Willow about helping you with a non-offensive style you can use.

I just noticed that the titles are in red if I'm logged on but in blue if I'm a guest. Will that work for you?

The AeroBlack option looks quite similar to the standard Getaway Darkblue, except it uses blue instead of red for the unread posts.

OK, thanks, et in. I didn't know we had the the themes option yet. I've switched to black and it's much easier on the eyes.
