Ohhhhh... from the 'Sweden' thread... I think you misunderstand. I was only faulting the lazy reporter for his article's premise that Sweden wasn't known for its 'dark side' ... by quoting Strindberg.

Nothing at all against you or the Stig Larsson books or films, I plan to check them out.

Whatever you're having. Go ahead.

I got to burn some sage in this place or something.

Is it Friday yet?

Uh oh, looks like I'm too young to be in here anymore. :D

OP ED has no idea what is going on in this saloon and/or why all of its patrons appear to be leaving or crying out for help. OP ED also does not have the necessary number of functional nerve cells to remedy this situation. therefore...

OP ED drinks coffee.

hard coffee....

one cup of coffee
[Very dark. Mine is Columbian, despite the implied karmic transaction]

1 1/2 shots Fireball brand Cinnamon Whiskey
[the one with the devil on it]

1 shot Sabroso brand licor de cafe

1 1/2 shots Brendan's Irish Cream liqueur
[simultaneously cheaper and more alcoholic than Bailey's]

just a spoonful of sugar
[etc, etc...]

repeat...

[6 so far]
Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore:
fecemi la divina podestate,
la somma sapienza e 'l primo amore.

Fireball cinnamon schnapps! (With the devil on it.) Used to drink it at work and chew red Dentyne. Drunks are sneaky like that, and can fool virtually no one.

I must say that coffee sounds fabulous.

OK, now I've donned the appropriate attire to serve you.

Gentleman, your coffees await. Thanks to Op Ed for the recipe. I did however insert coffee from Seattle (there is no coffee actually from Seattle, roasted here, yes, but you knew that) a dark French roast fair trade organic. Hope you don't mind.

Sage? Why don't you try apologizing to Delta Dawn and Cordelia? Why is someone who claims to be a champion of survivors being abusive to them on R.I.? They both live in rural areas. This board may have been important to them.

And why are you publicly promoting drinking? I'm sorry, but alcoholism is no help to survivors or anyone else.

I was mistaken in discouraging Jeff from banning two of the sock posters when he wanted, a couple of weeks before the conflict here. Until the absolute last straw, I had been worried that maybe they were for real. I also did not know that LA is considered rural.

For the record, I do not recall claiming to be a "champion of survivors", but thanks for the title I guess, unless that means I have to put up with abuse and never say anything about it, which apparently is what you are asserting.

Since I usually have a better time with a small crowd, I think I'll step into this little place and have myself an IPA. Boulevard single-wide if you got it; second choice would be Ranger (New Belgium brew). If neither are available, just give me the hoppiest beer on tap. However, if this place is like the bars in my town, the bartender is now looking at me blankly and wondering just where it is I think I am ordering something that doesn't end in "Light." In that case, just give me some kind of wheat beer or a guiness or something with actual flavor. No domestic American pisswater for me. Let's get this joint bumping again. (Man, I still feel weird ordering a virtual drink. BRB, gotta reload my bottle coozie with a fresh one out here in the RL)

Think I'll play the jukebox:

And to give the opposite sex some bad ideas:

"When I'm done ranting about elite power that rules the planet under a totalitarian government that uses the media in order to keep people stupid, my throat gets parched. That's why I drink Orange Drink!"

:D You know, if I were posting in this thread every single day, starting when I woke up in the morning, she might have a point.

To each of us, every one!

We got it, oh yes, hops if you want them. You have your bartender, we have his patrons as tourists. They walk up to a bar in Seattle offering a dozen local, flavorful, special micros on tap with as many or as few hops and other things to please anyone's palette, and what do they do? They order a Bud. Beer illiteracy is a real problem in this country.

Nice tunes.

I'll have a drink of just about any decent heavily alcoholic beverage right now, just as long as it's served in a bull's horn. I always wanted to get wasted drinking out of one of those. I can't really say why.
