thanks you two,

I should have said "five more years" because now I think about it, I was subconsciously referencing the newscaster from this:

but that news cast was from 66, so... I guess I was kinda right
By 1964 there were 1.5 million mobile phone users in the US

You could just run cheap vodka through one of those water filters about three times.

Speaking of clear liquors, apparently there's a corn whiskey fad going on. People are paying $20 for a rocks pour of... corn whiskey?

ICED MANHATTAN inspired by Junior Johnson's reserve formula. Cultivated over a lifetime of brewing and distilling in Appalachian shotgun shacks and prison toilet bowls. Clear corn whiskey for multipurpose use. Beverage, banjo cleaner, dewormer, emergency fuel for automobiles. Served in a mason jar. As intended. Room temperature. Authentically extra dry. No sweet vermouth, no cherry. Blue methanol streaks. Pairs best with hog jowls, oxycodone or methamphetamine. $35

Interesting. Shine is now being legally made around here and marketed around here in terms of "FINALLY, legal, respectable, hassle free moonshine."

You know how you can get a half-pint of guinness and a whisky on the side? A half and a nip, as they say?

Well, did you know that you can later put the whisky into your half once it has reached a certain level of depletion, and thus drink both at once? It's possible. It can be done. Repeatedly. And it is most enjoyable.

Also, smoke hash.

Ahab. :lovehearts:

I have seen that done before but I have not tried it. I like it when there are new things to look forward to.

You mean a shot and a beer, Ahab? Also known as a boilermaker. Although the nicest pint-and-a-nip is indeed an Irish and Guinness, a Wild Turkey chased with a Rolling Rock will do in America, or a Schenley OFC and a Molson Ex here.

14 months without a drop today, so I'm just fondly reminiscing here. Christmas Day 2009, I stamped down the DT's to join family, and haven't looked back. But I'll still write her meaningless love letters here, in a digital saloon.

And when you lot smoke hash you mix it with tobacco in a big cone spliff. Non-tobacco-smokers hate that, but then, there's more for us.... cough... 'ere...

Norton, I was just going to make myself some non-digital tea, and when it's ready I will toast you with it. That is no easy feat, congratulations to you!

:partyhat Thank you, Willow. It's a small demon when you get to know it, little pocket Dionysos who says, "Don't you REALLY want to get ecstatic?" and I say "Yes, but I'm not bringing you."

Night!

It's very warm, but sharp, kind of like a liquer. Of course, you can mix it to your own taste.

Aye, a boilermaker. I'm not trying to say I just discovered this amazing new thing that nobody would've ever thought of before (it's old news) but despite drinking it many times before i never realised how good it was. It's really good. Like vodka with minerals and nutrients. You can drink spirits but still get the huge physiological benefits given by beer.

And smoke hash.

Good man. Don't stop stopping. Did you hear that it kills you? Well, it does. You know that. You're in a better place than I am.

Don't want to be too tactless, but you can put whisky in your tea as well, and it's great. An old man told me. He warned against putting Guiness in your coffee though.

Didn't we used to have an RI quotes thread? I hereby nominate that post. Not quite a vacuum, PW, but near enough as never-no-mind, I guess  Time to focus on the achievement of providing difficult-to-find info and let the occasional lack of comprehension go out-of-focus, perhaps. I'll have a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a large snifter and toast your efforts :happydrunk:

Having now used up my entire month's worth of "-"s, I'm laying claim to the table in the dark corner for the next 24 hours.
