I almost started a new thread, but i thought it'd stick this observation here. Yesterday was 6 years since I joined RI. Lots of people have come and gone in that time. Lots have stuff has happened in RL too.

But without naming everyone, I want to say cheers to all the people who've moved on, stopped posting, or even died since I joined this board. And to all the people who are still here.

But especially to the people who aren't.

There are some who've been good friends, well as good as you can get with disembodied words typed from the other side of the world. Some are real kindred spirits. Some have helped me out in some ways. One sent me a shirt and about 100 CDs of remixes and music I'd never heard of.

Its been an eye opening time here, I've learned heaps, had my eyes opened to some things I'd never thought of. had bias' confirmed and demolished. Run into old foes from other times.

Thanks jeff for making it possible, and to everyone that isn't here anymore or is but rarely posts

cheers.

Anyone know what happened to Biaothanatoi?

Whether I've agreed with every single thing s/he said about Ritual Abuse or not, I've found Biaothanatoi's contributions always interesting and most often quite valuable.

^^ He stopped posting here a number of years ago now. He published what I thought was the very best among those in the Noblitt's RA anthology. http://www.amazon.com/Ritual-Abuse-Twenty-First-Century-Considerations/dp/1934759120/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1340751364&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=ritual+abuse+in+the+21rst+century

At the time he was heading up Australia's largest CSA advocacy organization and this was, I believe, the same year they produced some very controversial TV ads, which I grew to like. (See Below)

I have no idea what he is up to these days, but I'll say that his posts on RI, if cataloged, would provide another invaluable resource for survivors and advocates. His contributions were highly intelligent, learned, and passionate, you couldn't ask for much better.

Hi Biao, wherever you are!

Thanks for that. The truth is always controversial, especially when it's so dead-on as that ad is.

slightly off topic..
Someone was recently banned.I was curious,so went on a hunt for the final straw.I couldn't find it,and it's not important anyway.
In a trawl through the firepit,I came across this thread - I'm just wondering if this was an admin cock-up? Theres no obvious reason as to why it should be firepitted, usually Jeff or other mods give a reason before locking. Some of the content could be considered contentious - e.g. 'the driver did it', 'badgeman, construction hat guy, gordon arnold' moorman photo, but is it worthy of the firepit?

OpLan, I don't remember if I firepitted that thread or not, but if you search through the rest of Mr. Walker's posts you'll find it pretty obvious just why he was banned. At the time of his banning, he was loading up ten posts at a time in the sub forums and submitting them all at once - a nice strategy - so we were kind of scrambling to contain him.
