Well, I appeared on the show alright.

All I can say is, is that what a great tool RI is. The host wasn't aware of anything I brought up. Not his fault. But, being a denizen here certainly helps in general knowledge. I'm trying to find an archive of it, but it is not available yet. I think I'll be appearing same time, same bad channel next week.

Oh, I was also told to "try not to use language" after I did it a couple of times. I F-bomb so much, "Jesus Christ" this, goddamn that. It was so hard to not talk naturally. But even the very few times I did "swear" it was noted by the host. I really don't know how to talk or express myself any other way when I get into speculation mode. Oh well. . .

I had a very sweary housemate and was turning into one by osmosis; it was still going on even after he felt. So I mentally rehearsed replacing the swears with really anodyne replacements.

became

"Oh Gee!, those naughty naughty neocons and their shenanigans"

It really works - your friends may give you very strange looks for a couple of days, by the end of which you could debate politics with Karl Rove and remain swear free.

I like your Seattle archive stuff too, reminds me of when I worked in the archives of a university library. During slow times---and it was a quiet place---I'd roll through microfilms of old newspapers (we didn't have no fancy computers back then) just to browse for unusual or forgotten news bits and get a feel for the time period.

I did the same thing when my son was small. Miniature sailors are NOT amusing. Well, they kinda sorta are, until you take them in public.
