Anyone have any music podcasts they can recommend.

Especially interested in hip hop, old timey shit, jazz, ambient, downtempo, classic punk etc.

every DJs show is different, the only format is free form so they play whatever they want, not like a regular radio station. If you'd like I can point you to some shows in particular, but you'd probably enjoy just exploring...

10+ years of archives online :tiphat:

Ambient, minimal techno.
Recommended first tries - everything by Cio D'Or, Felix K, Natural electronic systems, Donato Dozzy, etc. I have every mix from mnmlssgs, most are good and you find new artists by checking the tracklists. Also try looking for Cio D'Or's mixes with Google, she has a few great ones elsewhere.

Bleep43 was founded in 2000 by Toby and Emile with the intention of providing information on electronic music via the internet and with the birth of our parties in 2002, promoting local DJs and live acts in the London area.

Here at Bleep43 we believe in keeping the spirit of underground dance music alive, but also providing our carefully selected guests the chance to express themselves to a knowlegeable and appreciative audience away from the commercial enviroment of the bigger clubs. We firmly believe in live music and always try to have a number of artists playing their own material.

justdrew - i just realized my last response came off sort of dickish. all i meant was I love WFMU, and was looking for something beyond that. FWIW - their iphone app is just ridiculous. I can't believe it's free.

Cheers!

not at all, I had a feeling you already knew when I was posting, they're much more well known these days than once upon a time.

anyway... that's the only source of 'curated' listening I do, otherwise I mostly follow hints and clues and explore on youtube (the amount of stuff on there has become truly vast)

so, if I do say so myself, you could do worse than just browsing through the 'what are you listening to thread' right here! :thumbsup

back a ways you'll even find the primary sources on chaphop :whisper:

As a native New Jerseyan or whatever, WFMU is one of those things that makes me proud to hail from such a strange and misunderstood place. Truly a crown jewel. Thanks for the other hints, JD.
