I definitely love everyone.

And I love prog too.

In the prog rock pantheon, of course we have Jon Anderson and Yes top slot, followed by Gabriel Era Genesis, but the third slot?

Does it go to Canadian prog rockers Rush, despite their intellectual libertarian drummer and all round good egg Neil Peart's brief flirtation with Ayn Rand (ugh! The very thought!)? Philosophers and ploughmen, each must know their part;

Or does it go to those terribly english gentlemen, Jethro Tull, with their lead singer Ian Anderson's uncanny resemblance to Krishna playing a flute one legged,* whose singing and dancing and glaring eye I often find myself emulating;

Or perhaps third place should be my favourite "Canterbury scene" prog band, Caravan for their dreamy singer and lush keyboard passages. I raise a toast to you all, a toast of winter wine for the forthcoming solstice;

* I am carving a short walking stick. I like to twirl it like a baton. I can do it standing one one leg, too. I'm getting quite good. I should join the drum majorettes. On second thoughts, perhaps not. It is rather a kung fu weapon of my own devising. When I knock myself on the head with it, I learn a lesson each time. Also, it helps me to intuit the space, never mind the time.

ps Slad, I DO love YOU!

pps Just general hats off to justdrew for constantly expanding the horizons of my mind. Thanks man.
