Uh ... No. I'm sorry but it looks stupid. Even my 9 year old son thinks it looks stupid. And after suffering through captain America, I have a real aversion to ever seeing that particular piece of beefcake ever again. Obviously there's something I'm not getting here.

Not without Wonderman, Scarlet Witch and the Vision!

Warning: Kirby lines.

(For those who don't realize: The fist plunging into his chest is not actually hurting him. You can only touch him if he sets his density on "high.")

(They are now even, each having caused the other to emit an equal number of u's, h's and g's.)

I'm pretty sure I have this yellowing in a plastic bag somewhere.

Mostly I'm just resigned to the Avengers opening on May 4th attracting a larger number of participants than the General Strike call of May 1st.

Yeah, Captain America was pretty atrocious, and I absolutely hate superhero comics, but I love a good popcorn flick, and this looks like the mother of all popcorn flicks. The 9.0/10 rating at imdb (over 20000 votes last I checked) doesn't hurt either. Or Josh Whedon at the helm (Fun fact: He wrote the script for Toy Story). Decent mindless fun is so rare these days (plenty of plain mindless though) I'll jump at any chance I get. Who knows, I might even pay for it

...

I doubt I shall see it.

I'm not so keen on these movies.

The Xmen movies were very disappointing.

The Spidey ones were pretty good on the other hand.

I just like rereading the original comics.

It's a nostalgia trip for me.

The first marvel comic I remember seeing was actually Dr Strange.

Right on Dr. Evil! Sounds weird saying that.

Our local theatre closed down. Now I have to go to Winnipeg to see it. A 5 hour drive no less. But I don't care. It's the Avengers man!

it's ok, there's some interesting psycho-social notes played, but mostly it' forgettable, like most (all?) superhero movies.

I say to thee DrEvil, truly art thou aptly named!

Have at thee, thou varlet!

To ME!

Ha ha ha.

Winged helmet?

Oh, I recall so very very much.

Invisibility. With an equally invisible camera. I would be the best photographer the world has ever seen.

Lately tho i have to admit super strength would be nice. Without all the aches and pains.

you can probably find it on dvd from street vendors, it's already been out for awhile in non-US markets. but I wouldn't know anything about that, I'm just using the power of foresight!

we used to call him, "Nick Fury, junkie of shield" - the story at one time was he had a lower quality version of C.A.'s supersoldier serum, and so had to keep taking injections to retain his semi-super powers. they retcon'ed that out at some point. :moresarcasm

ever see the 6 page story, "the Battlin' American" in Lloyd Llewellyn #5? very funny/true.
