What?

"Whatever you are feeling. It is a perfect expression of what you are in the process of becoming." ???

WTF? Overlaid upon a litany of B movie gore? I just don't get it.

The last thing I want to see is gore, the naturalization of gore and etc. I get it.

So, this attraction trolling. What is it about and why is it even here? (Granted it is the lounge)

But what's with this text being overlaid upon gore? I seriously don't fucking get it. As an OCD sufferer, seeing shit like this makes me nervous, esp with the added hidden or oblivious (to me) context. You didn't trigger me, but I don't know what this is meant to mean.

I don't know what "Law of Attraction" is, though I could search it and so could you. Looks like it's some kind of variant cult on Salvation-Through-Sales ("America's Fastest Growing Religion") where Guru Schmuh or Oprah tells you how to positive-think your way into success and attract your goals by visualizing them, etc. etc.

But I don't want to know. This thread works for me just fine.

I should add that I'm not remotely angry btw. I just don't agree anymore than I agree with emoticons for christ's sake. There's nothing to "agree" with. But still fuck that shit. I hate snarky hipster uses of gore and torture. How many have I seen in my life? This is probably the one and only

Yep,

Still not getting it.

I'm certainly not offended in the least. However, I don't get it. I don't get what's so goddamned clever about this. I suppose I'm a square. I expect to be punked in the hallways now headed as we are into school season soon.

These people are sociopath trainers. The images are there to put the quotes in their real and proper context.

None of you have sufficient hatred for this culture unless you've had to do marketing/copy work for them. This was borne out of several friends of mine in the business blowing off steam. It will probably continue. I am sorry my hobbies aren't all justifiable, especially since I just mocked someone on twitter a few days ago for not doing serious work.

Edit: as an interesting side note, I just realized pretty much all the images are from horror movies I saw before the age of ten. Hellraiser is a kids' movie to me -- because it was.

Recent engagement in this selfsame activity has certainly helped to renew and put some backbone into my own longstanding and overflowing hatred for this culture. (Should I hypocritically punctuate that with a cute smiley?)

I'm of two minds about this. Should it be hair-raising that kids watch this stuff? They shouldn't, it's vulgar in the broadest sense. But the stuff in itself? I don't know how harmful it really is, look again, those pictures are all ridiculous and obviously over-the-top fake.

Nevertheless, the most effective one is the one with the eyes. A bit more subtle, but it sends exactly the message you're talking about: training for sociopathy.

^^The best by far, because I've had a lot of LoA/Eckhart Tolle folks take that and run with it, not getting the joke for a second. According to our analytics, that image has been linked on about 200 forums so far and gets 5000 hits/day from FB.
