With regret, Canadian Watcher has been banned.

Postby Wombaticus Rex » Fri Jul 19, 2013 2:58 pm

Several folks have been asking, and rightly so, why CW hasn't re-appeared after the one week suspension was up. This was because we were still deliberating on whether or not to ban her. As she had mentioned many times in recent weeks, she has already been suspended 6 times for disruptive behavior.

Ultimately, we could only see bringing her back to RI as an open invitation to continue with the same conduct.

I apologize to anyone offended or upset by this decision.

More disruptive than instigating hatred? I see a lot of hate here and not only a lot of hate but the celebration of it, and as far as I can tell that is very well tolerated by the moderation team if there really is a team because I don't see anyone but you piping up Wombaticus.

1. What do you see as "instigating hatred" ?

2. The moderation team consists of Jeff, Project Willow, Dr Violin, Bruce Dazzling and myself. The vote was unanimous. I volunteered to make the announcement. Hope that clears up your concerns on that end, at least.

It was a sad and difficult decision. I wish her well.

I say we ban all Canadians from rigorousintuition.ca. Well, she never bothered me and I don't agree with this decision. She should have been given one last ONE LAST warning, not banned.

I 86 people from a "brick and mortar" place and to me I've always felt bad about it too. But this is still the Internet and not a physical place. She wasn't racist, fascist, misogynist etc. She was and is a good painter, outspoken and quarrelsome. She never did it with me. But she was a member and to cut her off to me, seems cruel. I see people argue all the time in real life and do what I have to do. It's not like RI is a bar overserving, it's an Internet forum. While I agree some need attain some perspective of their Internet lives and the "real" ones, I do not agree with any kind of banning of anyone. We have a built in immune defense and like all members, long term members, I again, disagree with this decision and thumb in the eye to a real human who interacted with us. To cut her off from this interaction is akin to "fascism". I've felt the same way about all members who get banned and/or suspended.

If I was a mod, I would be the dissent. As a member and lover of all of our genuine and unique personalities here, I do still dissent. She is who she is and I refuse to see her go and that also goes to SLAD and C2W and whatever the squabble is. C_W did get, I agree, too personal with things. I zone out on the personal things when they pertain to expressing anger.

I suppose that it's the recognition that we all have our crosses to bear and I am used to surly people and deal with in kind as in being kind. To cut her off, to me, is unkind. Not in agreement and she never did nuthin' to me.
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

Could you elaborate on the "built in immune defense" ?

Really appreciate your contribution so far, would just like to know more about what you're seeing there.

I also wish to state my dissent. Her crimes were trifling and her targets (mostly) well deserving of scorn.

Do you think moderators secretly have access to personal info? I have absolutely no idea who or where she is, myself. I can't tell if you're aiming that at moderators or someone in particular.

Only the site admins have email address access, my old pal. When you are banned you simply can no longer log in. But Canadian_watcher did have her website and contact info listed here for a while during a discussion we had a long time ago, so someone here must know it. And my feeling is that perhaps she's perusing this thread, so if she wants to contact you, I'm sure she will.

Is this because of the Icke thread?
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.
