CW and the OWS thread

Postby Bruce Dazzling » Tue Oct 18, 2011 3:31 pm

I gently warned her multiple times about disrupting the thread and insulting the board.

Jeff warned her as well, and threatened a suspension.

Here's her response:

Canadian_watcher wrote:me too, free. why ruin their party?

have fun greasing each others' poles, dudes.

I'm deleting the post and suspending her.

Is there any special protocol for instituting a suspension?

Well, it's considered good form to announce the suspension and the reasons for it on the board for the sake of transparency, otherwise the posters in question just become Desaparecidos. You can do this on the thread in question (and look for the discussion to be further sidelined) or elsewhere, such as the "Toast to banned and disappeared posters" thread.

Did you give her a formal warning via pm?

No, I didn't warn her via pm, but I was writing one up when Jeff posted this directly to the thread:

Jeff wrote:We can disagree, so long as we disagree on topic and within the guidelines.

So, please, no personal attacks, generalized accusations or caustic quips. More of that here will be considered disruption, and subject to deletion and membership suspension.

Here's how she responded:

I've already deleted her comment and I'm PMing her to explain that I'm banning her for a week, which I'm guessing she won't care about since she just committed suicide by moderator...

I go to Lethbridge for a couple of days, and I miss all the action.
all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

It's been a week, so I've reactivated CW.

Something like that. But it doesn't need to be precise. I was glad simply to remember that this was the day.
