et in Arcadia ego

Some weirdness to pass along.

I just noticed his signature has changed to "This account is no longer active. Goodbye, Rigorous intuition." I went to his profile and his account has been deactivated, which is supposedly an admin-only function. And I didn't do it.

Has anyone heard from him recently? Any idea what's going on?

Jeff, see the last couple of posts in "board wonkiness". chig and I discussed the possibility the board may not let him log in because he does not click the auto log-in option, but we did not know his account had been deactivated.

Thanks Sunny, I must not have read that message from chig that et had been unable to login.

I emailed him last night but haven't heard from him yet.

Got et hooked up again.

He said his IMs had also been deleted. Same thing DE said he found, too.

I'd like to see this discussed publicly, as the problem may be worse than we know. Trying to remember which thread that was that discussed the editing oddity.

Oops, I see it was the Theresa Duncan thread.

Let's start a "lurkers welcome" thread and invite people who are already registered to come in and introduce themselves.

Ok, that had nothing to do with this, just something rattling around in my head.

BUT, we should at least start a thread in which people discuss various board problems. It may just be mistakes by newbies we could easily help them with.

Well, actually, I like that idea, sunny. I think being a newbie on this board could be intimidating, and the board can benefit from some fresh blood now and then--so long as it's not the Dragon variety. But, I would hate to see this board degenerate into a clique.

Btw, I could swear that my inbox went from almost full to only something like 46% full. Ok, ok, I'm slow on housecleaning. The only reason I'm not sure is that I've barely gone in there for a long time, but I don't remember deleting that many. But I just assumed it was old ones getting automatically deleted, being out-of-date, or something. No clue what got deleted.
