We are an anti-fascist site above all. Hatred of Jews is not permitted and individuals who have shown such hatred have been banned numerous times in the past.

I want names. I want specific citations of the comments, with links.

I'm just tired of it Jeff. Over and over we explain we are talking about THE STATE OF ISRAEL. Over and over we are accused of Jew hate.

I think we've been good about policing that, and when we've seen it the members have been warned and banned. Clarification is a good idea, though. The subject is always going to generate heat, but that doesn't mean flamebait from either side should be tolerated.

I really try to stay out of any thread about Zionism or Israel because it never fails to degenerate into a flaming ball of ugliness.

Though I appreciate a lot of what Alice posts, she has definitely posted anti-Jew commentary -- recall DE's catching her and labeling her a "Jew counter."

I honestly think it's impossible to avoid anger and accusations when discussing Israel/Palestine. Too hot of an issue, with lots of loaded terms. If I ran the board, I'd just ban the topic entirely, but I know that's not a good solution.

Ugh. Seems like tensions have risen dramatically of late. I'm sorry I've unloaded some harsh words, but I REALLY can't tolerate when people give Jeff a hard time... as if they have some god-given right to be a member and Jeff should tolerate attacks on his character. It's insane.

I'm sick of the attacks on Jeff. Fine, they disagree, whatever. I for one, even tho I'm a proponent of CD, am ready to ban that topic forever. Some of them can't seem to understand that a lot of good people do not see CD when they watch the buildings fall and have to immediately fall to accusing them of being agents of the government. Blech!

Thanks, though I have a pretty thick skin about personal attacks. Unless they violate the rule re calling another member an agent of disinformation.

BTW, what do you think about the status of that "Yelling Nazi" thread? Is there any reason why it should stay open, or is it just a flame war now?

While I have very strong opinions about the Israeli-Palestinian issue, it does seem to me that the board is becoming overloaded with anti-Zionism threads. I do sympathizes with the emotions surrounding the issue, but I think that the recent imbalance, with thread after thread after thread on the subject, becomes a self-perpetuating feeding frenzy of anti-Zionism. I try to imagine what it would feel like if the international members got to expressing anti-Americanism to that degree, lumping us all together as one big homogeneous group to be blamed for the world's ills day after day( which would be more justified but uncomfortable, eventually) and I can begin to see how anyone with Jewish sympathies or identity would be concerned. It's as if Israel has become the easy punching bag for the US/ Israeli dynamic, letting America off the hook, especially on this board.

The problem is that there is no one left here to articulate an argument to counter the anti-zion threads, which is probably part of the reason there has been such a proliferation of those threads lately. All orz and nomo do is snark, which doesn't help in the least. I don't know what to suggest.
