I've officially warned Hugh about disruption in the Pilger thread. Another instance of it and he's suspended.

You should have gone ahead and suspended him. He knows better by now.

I guess I shouldn't have engaged with him, but it's hard to hold back when he's so demonstrably wrong.

On the contrary. It's tempting to goad him, and I've indulged in that plenty, but you made a positive intervention there.
He's posting sometimes now as though he's looking to commit board suicide by cop.

I've given Hugh a seven day suspension based upon his activities here:
viewtopic.php?p=347245#p347245If you think this is too harsh, feel free to adjust it accordingly.

Eh, Jeff has a whole little section he can post in about KWH. It won't hurt him... I'm not liking the nazi ref to Jeff, so poo-poo for Hugh for a week...

If it was anyone else I'd consider it harsh. But nobody's been given more lifelines than Hugh, and he should know when to grasp one. A week it is.

I think I've released the ban on Hugh, but if someone could, you might check it to be sure.

I think I did, too. So between us, we probably did.

Please note:
viewtopic.php?p=350768#p350768If you catch him on the thread, suspend him.
(BTW, use the "suspend" feature instead of ban in all cases except spambots. It makes tracking and reactivating easier.)

Yeah, I saw that gem last night about 1am when I couldn't sleep & burst out laughing at his own personal black hole theory. Is that the KWH thing he does in threads he's not supposed to? Heh, sorry I laughed instead of chastized, it was just so bloody preposterous... but it was funny to read...

I've again given Hugh a seven day suspension based upon his activities here:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=29057as well as for this post:
viewtopic.php?p=351312#p351312Once again, if you think this is too harsh, feel free to adjust it accordingly.
Obviously, I'm sort of on a hair trigger with his bullshit. But he wants to disrupt threads and challenge the board rules, and I don't really care about his motives. I don't find that his behaviour adds that much to the setting when he's on his little jags, so - no patience with it. Sorry. But not very. He's probably just angry about the Prouty thread.

Fuck, I used the banning mode again. Can someone direct me to the particular area of the Mod Control Panel doohickey that is just for suspensions? You mentioned that earlier, Jeff, but I wasn't paying attention. I think I was doodling on my notebook, or something.

I think "deactivate account" should show up on your list of options between "ban by IP" and "delete signature."
