Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

(as mentioned already by 8bitagent) is the quintessential RI film imho. High wierdness with uncomfortable undercurrents of violent incest. Everything appears nicey nicey on the surface. Scratch it and out oozes pus.

As for the scene where the FBI agent is told what is happening through codified body language by the mute girl. Genius.

The theme music is just...damn...gotta go fire up iTunes and get the mp3 playing in the background.

I think the film that disturbed me the most watching it, had to be Jacob's Ladder. Hands down. But the film that also made me feel unsettled

was...

You mean Twin Peaks?

Jeff's blog on "the black lodge" phenomenon, of gnome/alien abductee victims describing whats essentially a Masonic/Lucerferian cult ritual
definately reminded me of the blade lodge in Twin Peaks.
(the checkerboarded, red curtain draped room with the midget and dark secrets)

Angelo Badalamanti who did the score is a genuis.

Please tell me youve seen "Mulholland Drive"

sunny wrote:8bit, if you poke around you'll probably find a thread for nearly all the films you listed. Here's a fascinating discussion of Kubrick:

The Kubrickian symbolism in 2001, EWS, and Shining especially is well noted, I'll check out that article. EWS especially, I am curious how he got the details of that mansion scene

Ooooh, nice! I have seen that. I couldnt help but think it was a film about the Illuminati manipulating world events from their tower.

Also yeah, Donnie Darko and Mothman Prophecies, definate RI films.

It's funny, David Lynch made headlines earlier this year for coming out questioning 9/11. (as did Richard Linklater and Antonie Fuqua, who did Waking Life/Scanner Darkly and Shooter respectively)

Btw, you guys have GOT to see this trailer for "Midnight Meat Train".

This ot me looks like the most frightening film since Jacob's Ladder in my book. Dont let the "Lionsgate" logo scare ya away, this doesnt look like no saw/hostel type crap

Speaking of Clive Barker, sometimes it's felt too much like a trip to the labyrinth in Hellbound: Hellraiser II (viewer discretion strongly advised).

But it's only a movie, and only a blog.

Although:
The Incredible Mr. Limpet
is one of the very best in the world. I just re-watched THEY LIVE! and you can't beat the fight scene that goes on and on and on and on, I think they used it as a template for the fight scene with Timmy and the kid on crutches in South Park.

It tells it like it is. If you consume, procreate and die the aliens will be cool with it. It seems like the Charlie Sheen movie, The Arrival is a remake, sort of.

Heh, the "founding fathers belonged to a child sacrificing occult order"
meme continues in this episode of Masters of Horror new series, this one titled "The Washingtonians".

In this brief clip, a historian explains that Washington was set up to be the leader for a secret reason, and the "dark truth" behind the original seat of power:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCLJXb27mIc

Which would seem laughable...until you realize they discovered the remains of a dozen children underneath Ben Franklin's Trafalgar Square mansion in 1998, carbon dated back to the time when he lived there. Apologists claim he or his assistant were merely being scientific and using the bodies of non murdered kids to learn science. However, Benjamin Franklin's activities in European occult orders like Hellfire Club would provide a different reasoning.

Wow, it sure was. Here's They Live video accompanied by South Park audio. It's like playing Dark Side of the Moon to The Wizard of Oz!
