careful with photo debates

Postby Dreams End » Thu Jul 28, 2005 11:32 am

I saw the photo in question on the very site you linked to, Peachtree Pam. I'd say a couple of things.

One is that a digital image from a video capture blown up big enough to work with will have all kinds of digital artifacts and "halos" and any number of things hard to discern. I looked at the photo carefully and did not see anything at all conclusive.

Two. This is important. Have you ever played with photoshop? I once made an excellent (in my opinion) special effects shot of someone INSIDE a bottle. The challenge was that, when you paste someone's image into a picture, it will BE IN FRONT OF THE OTHER IMAGE. In my case, I needed the image to appear to be behind elements of the bottle but in front of others. That took careful erasing of bits of the pasted image. This photo is the same. The challenge would have been getting that bomber to appear BEHIND the other bombers. His arm would automatically have been seen as in front of the railings unless someone had gone to the effort of intentionally altering to look as if his arm is behind. I'm simply not sure how more people with Photoshop experience haven't pointed this out.
