In the film "Lolita," when Hum picks little Lo up from camp and they're in the hotel the next morning, she wants to play a game. Asks Hum to guess what the game is -- something she learned from the boy at camp. Hum's never been good at guessing and can't figure it out. She whispers in his ear, just like the LeeLee Sobieski character in EWS, who whispers sexily in Dr. Bill's ear. What's this mean? Could it be just a self-referential image?

I noticed that in "Lolita," Clare Quilty asks Hum if he is Spartacus when Hum comes for revenge. ("Spartacus" was directed by Kubrick.)

"Lolita" is a fascinating, yet creepy film. One wonders if Lolita's dad -- the "soul of integrity" according to Charlotte Haze -- was Lolita's first. Charlotte, upon learning that Hum has the hots for Lolita, goes into a rage -- but she seems angrier at Lolita than at Humbert! Perhaps this is not the first time that Lolita has taken Charlotte's "man."
