Not 'til now, thanks for the heads up. Pretty frightening stuff. Anita O'Day's recordings in the mid-'40s with his band are some of her best work. The two of them must have made quite a twisted combination, but I love Anita to no end.

Actually, I was very proud of Tila. She done an early Iggy Pop on them Juggalos. Nobody liked it, but that wasn't the point - she stayed the course until a viable threat to her life arose. All covered in face paint.

Not the best video of the event, this, but I bet it's old news anyways over there anyway:

I reckon she done alright.

This is kind of on the Kriss Kristofferson topic, because it's about doing a shitey gig. The Abba original was Dennis Nilsen's
favourite killing song, or at any rate the song he most often ended up killing to, incidentally. But that don't matter none. It's a good song.

Dick Gaughan is the best guy ever, and it's a scandal that I haven't heard that song before.

Don't think I've posted the good, clean version of "Popemobile To Paraguay." Here 'tis.

Posted this before, but in hopes of luring Mac back:

have you seen it coming? have you seen it come?

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

Pathetictude is in the eye off the beholder, I always say. To be fair, Kristofferson was really never about rock and roll, but something far less definable. And the thing that's hard to see about that video is that the audience was angry for the three pounds they'd paid to get in, all the while they could see large numbers of people sneaking in because of the poor security. At least that's how I understand it. And what the hell, he wrote some great songs about being hung over:

On the other hand, I think I've always had a soft spot for Tila and her shallow brand of exuberant weaseling, and the Juggalo gig just confirmed my instincts.

Kindly watch this video, then, of the girl in action (featuring Snoop Dog), and ye shall never need speak suchly again.

I believe she has around twelve platinum records to her credit. In other words, she's an industry the size of a small nation.

Montreal man third arrest in terror case

The Gazette August 26, 2010 1:20 PM

OTTAWA — The third man arrested in the Ottawa anti-terrorism raids is a former Montrealer who once auditioned for Canadian Idol.

Khuram Sher, 28, moved to London, Ontario a month ago and is said to be a 2005 graduate of the McGill medical school and was in 2006 Pakistan during the relief efforts after an earthquake in Kashmir. He sang Avril Lavigne's song Complicated in a 2008 Canadian Idol audition.

Two Ottawa terror suspects along with a third man are accused of conspiring with at least three other people located not only in Canada but also in Iran, Afghanistan, Dubai and Pakistan to facilitate a terrorist offence, according to court documents.
