Nice thread title to shove in Jackie's face, carnivorous fish. I just hoped she'd get a little better treatment here than on the skeptic's forum.

I think she has been treated rather well, I am a known McMartin skeptic and I have nothing but respect for Jackie and like I said above if there is anyone who can make me reconsider my position it is her. I am glad CUDA bumped this thread back and and that Jackie has joined us in this discussion about Wyatt's paper and rebuking of Stickle's report. Nothing wrong with honest and open discussion, nobody is being rude or disrespectful towards her and if I see anyone doing such I will be the first to call them on it.

That's a perennial problem for anyone who's gotten mixed up in events that attract the disinformationistas. Online, people can't "read" our demeanor and are understandably hesitant to believe first-hand accounts, unfortunately. But there's a point at which I've found that well-intentioned people will overcome that waffling and listen to actual witnesses. I'm really glad that's happening here and I'm so thankful that you've stood up to the deniers and to those skeptics who are probably reflexively trying to "protect their cool." Grace under fire is a wonderful quality to model for the parapolitical community.

This is a large and popular group of leftists that I admire with an event held in a commune in a community with enormous kinetic potential - we have the country's second largest downtown population, but compared to NY we have egregious racial and class inequality and much more radical politics.

I just can't let this one slide. I think my tactic will be to focus on other, more recent cases. And I plan to pull out the quip "sexual abuse is the prime expression of fascism," a paraphrase attributable to someone here.
