Now, I have to wonder if any guidelines exist if say someone -

*claims a murder victims daughter is really just an actress.
*posts that a murder victim's daughter is trying to 'cover up' something.
*tells outright lies about a specific person.

What is the guideline if someone does something like this?
Or is it ok for them to lie and say libelous things toward someone, as long as nobody calls them on the lies?
Or, we can call them on their lies as long as they aren't part of the 'in crowd'?
Can you please clarify this for us almighty AD?

Rachel, it is a very long and complex history as to what happened when you came to the board. You know this as well as I do.

Facts are, when I said something about you spreading disinformation and it was pointed out to me that since you were a poster here on this board this was in violation of the guidelines, I acknowledged my mistake, changed my behavior, and removed the offending verbiage. Later I did indeed offer you an apology, and sincerely wished you well in the quest to get justice for your father's murder. I meant it, too.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Dr. Doogie and you have both violated a guideline of this board by making disinfo accusations. I hope that you will both admit to your mistakes and change your behavior.

I also would like to know the answer to my above questions? Is it ok for someone to spread lies and we shouldn't call them on it?
Well, hey, if that's the case....

Did you know I have a pink unicorn hiding in my garage??? You know, that unicorn was a witness too, and is a main part of the conspiracy. My unicorn tells me (oh yea, I forgot to mention, it can talk too!) names of others involved too, and btw, one is an actress!! wow, did you know that??

Now, don't call me on it, because it's not in the guidelines.. I'm sticking to my story here about my unicorn.

My interpretation of the guidelines is that it is fine for you to say something isn't true if it's not. What you shouldn't do- as I understand it- is accuse somebody of being a disinfo agent, or of deliberately spreading disinfo for any reason.
