The police have been in close contact with the Labour Party and the Labour Youth (AUF) regarding what will happen with items cleared. The leaders of the investigation visited the island last Friday to plan the work there going forward. Karlsen told NRK that “some will be secured as evidence, some will be delivered back to those who own them or next of kin, and some will be destroyed.”

Karlsen described being out at Utøya as “intense,” calling it “a very difficult task” even for veteran police officers.

All electronic equipment found on the island will be treated as evidence. It is believed that some of those who were on the island took pictures or otherwise used their phones to record Breivik’s actions or movements. Hjort Kraby described the material that might be stored electronically on the island as “central” to the investigation.

In further revelations, Breivik is believed to have rung the police from Utøya himself using a mobile telephone. No information has been yet released about the content of the call. It has also been suggested that the items Breivik hung in trees around the island, feared to be explosives, were filled with petrol. The leader of the emergency team that worked on the island, Anders Snortheimsmoen, revealed the information to German newspaper Der Spiegel, although police are yet to confirm the news. It is not yet clear what the suspect was planning to do with the petrol. Lawyer Lippestad has told newspaper Aftenposten that the hanging of petrol in the trees has not been discussed during interrogations.

Where did Breivik get this petrol? How did Breivik transport the containers "feared to be explosives" that he hung in the trees? Why/how is this active shooter on a island full of people he is single handedly terrorizing carrying about petrol filled containers and hanging them in trees? I'm having a hard time imagining the logistics of this.

To become a member of the Norwegian Order of Freemasons, which has today approximately 18.500 members, one must be sponsored by two members of the Order, one of whom must have obtained the degree of Master Mason. Those seeking admission must profess to the Christian faith, have reached the age of 24 and known to have stability in his daily life. Those interested in membership must take contact with a Freemason he knows personally and who is willing to recommend him as a member. This application for membership should be a completely free decision; no one should be persuaded to become a member. It is the case of a strong personal relationship.

The Norwegian Order of Freemasons expressing compassion and care
I am appalled by the horrible atrocity that was committed in the government district and at the Utøya island, says the Sovereign Grand Master of the Norwegian Order of Freemasons, Ivar A. Skar. We are filled with mourning and compassion for those who have been affected and their relatives. It has appeared in the media that the accused has been a member of the Norwegian Order of Freemasons. He has now been expelled - the expel immediately effective.

^ re Freemasons: I'm getting the impression that a) the perp's ideology is secondary to the whack itself, which produces its MIC-friendly effects no matter what horseshit motives are laid at the feet of the horseshit perp; and b) "Breivik's" backstory came out of a committee of diverse interests whose approval was needed, including Norwegian labor PM Stoltenberg, who was likely sold on its proven political benefits (like the 94% approval rating he's currently enjoying) and the promise of fingering various political threats and rivals including, evidently, Freemasons.

Just a working theory but you have to admit the "Breivik-function" is all over the place ideologically.

I'm hoping most people reading this Möbius strip of an accusation can see it for exactly what it is - an attempt to blame the criminal actions of the extreme right-wing on the socialist left.

I think this is what you meant right Harvey? I have very limited photoshopexperience, but to me it's glaringly obvious that both these pictures tacked onto the manifesto are the same body, with different costumes and heads pasted on. Look at the exact same posture, look at the exact same hands.

Why?! What could have possibly attracted an evil hatefilled lonewolf extremist to freemasonry?

Hugh, good point about the plastic surgery in all probability being disinfo to distract from these obvious photoshop shenanigans.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Templar_%28Freemasonry%29:
The Knights Templar is an international philanthropic chivalric order affiliated with Freemasonry. Unlike the initial degrees conferred in a Masonic Lodge, which only require a belief in a Supreme Being regardless of religious affiliation, the Knights Templar is one of several additional Masonic Orders in which membership is open only to Freemasons who profess a belief in the Christian religion.

Anders Behring Breivik, who has confessed to the twin attacks in Norway on July 22, claims he called police during the massacre of 69 people on the island of Utoeya, his lawyer has told Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.

This number reminds me of the concept of "twinning". Breivik's blonde hair and resemblance to Assange eerily sticks in my mind...still. People don't have to be identical twins from birth to be twinned in the occult do they?

If you can't see how this pseudooccultist obfuscation is exactly part of the fucking problem that led Breivik to cite again and again the American loony Christian right and nostalgic authoritarian pseudopopulism to support a project to blame the global economic crisis of neoliberalism on women engaging in casual sex, which in turn led him to kill dozens of unarmed left-wing adolescents whom he undoubtedly saw as somehow feminine, if you refuse to acknowledge the the real significance lies in the fact that no one in the Obama administration has queued Robert Spencer, Pam Gellar or Geert Wilders for drone-based assassination for "promoting terrorism", if that all falls by the wayside because like another infamous figure momentarily on the world-stage Breivik also has typically Scandinavian features, well, I'm not sure what compels your fantasies to take on the tinge of a boring fascistic mistaken-identity soap opera just right for trivializing the actions of reactionary extremists across the globe, but if that's all you can occupy your mind with, enjoy it.

I actually read a comment following a blog-report interview with Breivek's absent-dad lauding Breivek for 'doing something' about Norway's state-terrorism -- apparently referring to its 'liberal' and socialist-leaning political philosophy. That had to be among the 3 or 4 stupidist, imost gnorant things I've ever read on the net -- so much so I can scarcely conceive of the arrogant idiocy of that kind of thinking. That people CAN be lead to such absurd rationalizations frankly makes me pessimistic that the human race can -- or perhaps even should -- survive. Maybe that's just a symptom of true evil.

Thought it might be useful to re-watch the BBCs excellent TimeWatch documentary on Gladio. Part three, mainly about the Westland New Post and Paul Latinus, has what strikes me as the most relevant material, especially regarding past police collusion and involvement in far-right Gladio attacks. Decided to cut together the main points for people who don't have time to watch the whole thing (though everybody who hasn't already seen it definitely should).

Federico Umberto D'amato, former head of the Italian political police and founder of the Berne Club, who's been quoted here before, says:

"These puppets, the French call them 'automat, we call them 'automi'...from the word 'automatos'...that is, automated puppets. It is the attempt to give life to something that is lifeless, but whose movements and gestures are really quite charming. Here is a puppet which sums up what we have been talking about. This is the puppet of politics. This is the conjurer, the 'jongleur'."

The context of this quote, and the man delivering it, is just... prodigiously creepy.

full doc, in many parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynY72Mv5 ... re=related

(I'm not claiming that Breivik is a proven Gladio agent, btw, with or without his knowledge, because I'm not sure of that myself, but the clip is still well worth watching).

That surprises me. Not long after the event I saw an interview with his Dad on BBC where he disowned Breivik, and seemed appalled by his actions, though it could be argued that he'd already disowned him long before (and maybe shouldn't have). Maybe it was his step-Dad, come to think of it. His Dad was a diplomat and his step-Dad an army officer, so right-wing sentiments from either of them wouldn't surprise me, even ridiculously crude and insensitive ones.

I know what you mean about losing faith in humanity, though. I made the mistake of following a link to Debbie Schlussel's opinion piece on the Utoya shootings earlier. The only consolation I could take from it is that she appears to have a genuine mental illness, and so does not have full control of her reasoning.

Not much consolation, but it'll have to do.
