Meanwhile, I'm enormously grateful to JackRiddler and everyone else who's contributing, un-narcissistically, to the "End of Wall Street Boom" thread and numerous others devoted to hugely important, life-changing matters I still understand too damn little about, e.g. money. And I'm grateful to Jeff for providing a place where that kind of thing can still happen.

Hear hear. I know I don't contribute very much meat to the board in the sense of posting real research and so on, but I spend probably an hour a day reading the board and things that I've found linked to on it, and have learnt a hell of a lot. Maybe as the fucking narcissists leave (definite mote in thy brother's eye vibe going on there) lurkers, irregular posters and lazy ones like me will contribute more. We'll see, won't we?

And Hugh - you know, it's cool that you have this mission to make everyone think about the important things, but you can't moan that people are hostile to your KWH free-association riffs and then turn around and be hostile to people who want to discuss UFOs and crop circles. I don't like it when people tell you to "peddle your crazy somewhere else", and I don't like it when you barge into those threads and say they're an embarrassment.

I'd been resisting posting in this thread, but have to say thanks to §ê¢rꆧ for the C&H strip!

Of course, now that I'm here, I feel compelled to say something on topic.

Like many, I tend to lurk more than post, and due to time constraints (and a neurosis or two) I tend not to PM much or establish any kind of personal contact with folks on the board, but I still consider this place to be an invaluable resource for information that might otherwise slip beneath my radar, and also as a reminder that I'm not crazy, and that other people out there are seeing the same things I do (or, at the very least, that there are people out there that share in my delusions).

In any case, farewell et in Arcadia ego. I can't say that I agree with your overall perception of what this place has become, but I'll miss seeing you here nonetheless.

And best of luck to you too, Vigilant. Hope you don't stay away too long.

Jeff, just do what you gotta do to stay healthy and sane for yourself and your family. I'm not nearly as involved here as many are, and even I need to come up for air now and then.

And a sincere thanks to all the distinct voices out there who make this place so fascinating, frustrating, frightening and funny.

Yeah, let me take this opportunity to express my sincere love and appreciation to you all. And especially in the moment to you vigilant. I'm dead serious when I say: Please Don't Go. You're one of my favorite personalities here. But I do realize that it's an incredibly time intensive activity drafting your posts as you do. Thank you for all you've given us.
