In that video, Breivik quite definitely is showing typical back-of-the-head male pattern baldness when he leans over to get in the car. Which is not surprising, because all the later pics of him such as the freemason shot look to have the same baldness apparent.

He is clearly balding. Even that photo of him in a brown jacket with a moronic goatee shows his hair is marching back already.

^ well there's balding and there's bald. Red-sweater Breivik has a widow's peak and a decent haircut; big baldy has a shiny dome and a Bozo fringe:

And, let us not forget, no sign of Emma Martinovic's "police cap on his head."

Maybe I'm not the only one wondering if Karl Rove is involved. We know he's advising Sweden Re: Assange.

Swedish man caught trying to split atoms at home

Postby MinM » Thu Aug 04, 2011 8:12 am

OT?
STOCKHOLM (AP) -- A Swedish man who was arrested after trying to split atoms in his kitchen said Wednesday he was only doing it as a hobby.

Richard Handl told The Associated Press that he had the radioactive elements radium, americium and uranium in his apartment in southern Sweden when police showed up and arrested him on charges of unauthorized possession of nuclear material.

The 31-year-old Handl said he had tried for months to set up a nuclear reactor at home and kept a blog about his experiments, describing how he created a small meltdown on his stove.

Only later did he realize it might not be legal and sent a question to Sweden's Radiation Authority, which answered by sending the police.

"I have always been interested in physics and chemistry," Handl said, adding he just wanted to "see if it's possible to split atoms at home."

The police raid took place in late July, but police have refused to comment. If convicted, Handl could face fines or up to two years in prison.

Although he says police didn't detect dangerous levels of radiation in his apartment, he now acknowledges the project wasn't such a good idea.

"From now on, I will stick to the theory," he said.

Breivik's political idol «Fjordman» emerges from anonymity
- I am Fjordman, says Peder Jensen

(VG Nett) In an exclusive interview with VG, Peder Jensen (36) sheds his alias as the right wing blogger «Fjordman», and talks about his shock at being cited as an influence by terrorist Anders Behring Breivik.

Thursday he was questioned for several hours by Norwegian police about his supposed interaction with Breivik (32).

Under the alias «Fjordman», he has been a prolific blogger on different far-right websites, and was cited extensively in Breivik's rambling manifesto.

The 36 year old man, originally from the coastal town of Ålesund, agreed to an interview in a café in Oslo Thursday evening.

In accordance with his lawyer, he has elected to be interviewed in VG using his real name, and asks that journalists do not contact his neighbors or family.

- I have warned my family about this interview, and because of my own safety, I'm now going into hiding, says Jensen

Soft spoken and unassuming, he is dressed in a white t-shirt and dark jeans. He says he was horrified at being cited a total of 111 times in Breivik's 1500 page manifesto.

- I have not read the manifesto, but I have seen bits and pieces referred in the media, and some parts have been shown to me by others, he says.

During the period between 2009 and 2010 he received a handful of emails from Breivik, where he told Jensen that he was working on a book. In one email written towards the end of 2009, he also asked if he could meet his political idol «Fjordman». Jensen refused.

- I don't know why he wanted to meet me, but I declined. Not because of his extreme views, but because he didn't seem very interesting - like a vacuum cleaner salesman. «Pie in the sky», I thought to myself when I re-read the emails, says Jensen, again stressing that he never met Breivik personally.

Police sources confirm that Jensen has been questioned as the blogger «Fjordman», and that they are certain of his identity.

- I feel it's my duty to give a statement to the police, and I wanted to do this interview because my name eventually would have emerged anyway, resulting in a media frenzy. It is also a way for me to clear my name, says Jensen.

Norwegian police confiscated his computer Thursday, and even though he was questioned as a witness, he feels that the police are looking to implicate him.

- They won't find anything on my computer regarding any criminal matters or Breivik, he says.

Jensen has a masters degree in culture and technology from the University of Oslo, and has studied Arabic at the University of Bergen and the American University in Cairo. In his master's dissertation he wrote about censorship and blogging in Iran.

He has never been a member of any political party in Norway, and after completing his compulsory military service, he says he has never touched a gun.

After the terrorist attack and his blog being cited as an influence, Jensen says he will never use the alias «Fjordman» again.

- I don't wish to be associated with Breivik and his horrible actions, he says.

This Fjordman is one of the most dangerous writers I have read in a long time.

By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

Must admit, that's where my thoughts were headed (at least as a hypothesis) when I saw the version of the video with the circled runner. But I don't think so now. There are actually survivors, apparently near-naked, huddled by the van next to the group of cops/Delta - presumably people who'd already been in the water, or were preparing to swim away when the cops finally arrived. If the cops and the shooter(s) had been working together, it would be more than a little bit risky to welcome the shooter(s) back into the fold in front a group of survivors who could easily recognise them.

I'm not sure about you...but if someone was firing at me with an automatic rifle I wouldn't be noticing facial features.

Yeah, me either. For one thing, I wouldn't be facing them, and I'd also be moving as fast as humanly possible toward cover of any kind. Taking that one last epic Twitter pic which could be sold to CNN in order to secure my global fame (seriously Lupercal?) would be the last thing on my mind.

But it's odd... survivors often do seem to notice, or at least are often reported as having noticed, the facial expressions of spree killers during their rampages, and I don't think you can notice someone's facial expression without also noticing their facial features, hair colour, build, etc. Then again, eye witnesses are notoriously unreliable at the best of times, and even more so when things are happening fast in an unfamiliar and life-threatening situation.

The main point is, if there had been outright collusion between the police and the shooter(s), there is no way the shooter(s) would've met the police down at the dock, in front of multiple survivors and a noticeable news helicopter, for high-fives and backslaps or whatever.

For the record, I'm near to being convinced that Breivik acted completely alone during both attacks, though not necessarily in the run up to them, and that the police response was nothing more than a catastrophic but understandable failure (though the fact that it was understandable doesn't wholly excuse it) rather than any kind of direct criminal act. Except just possibly criminal negligence in the case of the first calls from Utoya being dismissed to keep the lines open for calls from Oslo (if such a charge exists in Norway). But if they really believed the calls from Utoya were pranks - coming from an island full of teens, after all - I don't think that charge could stick, and am not sure it should ever be brought anyway.

But questions still have to be asked, both there and here, even if I do feel like a total shitbag asking mine.

If it went down as reported, yes, I'd seriously expect there to be dozens of clearly identifiable cell/cam pics floating around the net by now, but obviously it didn't and couldn't have gone down that way, and the spooks confiscated all the cams and devices anyway -- didn't put out an urgent request, confiscated, like I knew they would -- which pretty much seals the deal.

As far as pics and video goes. Haven't there been a few massacres lately? Va Tech, Giffords shooting, Fort Hood etc etc, there's been 4 or 5 in the last 5 years in the US alone.

How much pic and vid footage is there of those events?

Footage of bad things that isn't live on tv rarely gets released. Sometimes I think its suspicious(OKC 1995), other times I guess its out of respect

Well, before you pathologize him, consider how readily states turn to violence in order to alter the governments of other nations. He attacked the futureleader summercamp for the country's ruling party; the USBritainFrance are bombing Ghaddafi's children. Is the individual uniquely deranged? Only in his hopes of success? Is it insane to imagine that a lone gunman can overthrow the government of Norway? Um, lemme ask it to yinz comme ça: is it insane to imagine that the United States Military can install a Westward-looking system of state capitalism in Afghanistan? Yo--the objection to the purported utopian vision of anarchy is that all the depredations of the state are merely recapitulations of the inherently brutal and violent nature of man. I say to you it is not so. Many creatures are violent, even among their own kind; but almost none are so meaninglessly, so fruitlessly so. It is not the state which recapitulates the viciousness of man in his state of nature, but man who recapitulates the depredations of the the state.
