That is an awesome if somewhat unflattering deconstruction of Bruce’s writing sfnate. It's possible that I give more credence to Bruce's writing than is called for because it supports my own pretense that we all have a lot of unlearning to do before we will move on to some real learning. Still I would assert that greater meaning is contained in those words if a larger context is recognized.

Bruce wrote...
Every so often, our secret reality becomes common knowledge. Irrationally fashioned unknown aerial objects land to have their inhabitants display lunatic behaviors, ghosts throw prosaic objects at us, strange creatures dart and dash under the cover of darkness that lurks behind the chatty witticisms of the villagers. The wise know that the paranormal is the reality that conforms to denial,...

Translation: A smart man understands that his intellect is haunted by the ghosts of our dearly departed ideas, which frequently rise from the grave to accuse us of our own ignorance, each pointing a bony figure at the modest candle illuminating our study: "That puny light reveals nothing, except a poverty of understanding what truly is, which is nothing."

Instead of finishing this last sentence with ‘which is nothing’, I would prefer to see it as; ‘which is so much bigger than (what can be exposed given) the limits of current conceptual structures that it has become nearly useless to use them in our efforts too understand what truly is’.

But each to his own and your way produces neat artifacts also.
